The techs at the repair center confirmed that my laptop's AC adaptor was spoilt.
And since the warranty's over, I was forced to shell out the money for a new one.
It cost me $160 - considerably much steeper than I thought. I was expecting it to cost around $100, tops.
I'm pretty depressed over all this. -

I figured that it would cost $100 at most.... after all, surely a power supply device for a laptop shouldn't cost so much, no?

As long as you follow the specs on your laptop's ac adapter(and its pretty much the same for laptops), you can buy a replacement at sim lim tower for less than $50. -
yeah.. actually, if it fit, you could have had my old VAIO thingy... i still have it in case i decided to buy another notebook
