All the ac adapters for laptops come from the same few factories in china anyway, there is no reason for one to cost so much!!!
Write a nasty letter to Toshiba about this (the main Toshiba HQ in Japan that is, not the Singapore one) -

.... I'll be giving tuition again tomorrow morning.
It's pretty rare that I have to give two sessions one day after the other, but last week, both my students fell ill at the same time.
Oh well... they have a great aptitude for learning. I'm proud to have them as my students.
