yup... make sure they give u a receipt for the amount paid back... written acknowledgement or something..Originally posted by fudgester:You got a point there.
I'll certainly raise this point with them, and let them know that it's their problem, and not mine. I'll offer to return any overpayment, but only to Sentosa Corp itself. They deal with the underpaid fella, not me. Else the other guy can simply backstab me and claim that I didn't give him the money he was due to get.

if you think you are not, you are probably guilty of it.Originally posted by elindra:Pray tell how is everyone guilty of hubris?
Everyone has some self prideOriginally posted by hisoka:if you think you are not, you are probably guilty of it.
id you think there is on person with no self pride? overly is a relative and subjective term.
i still dun understand how they didn't keep records of payments and transactions of money.........Originally posted by fudgester:Whatever the case, this episode can't be good for the control of my blood pressure. The very fact that I'm holding on to money that isn't mine, and that I would have to help them rectify their mistake is really making my blood boil.
I already have plenty of things to handle without having Sentosa Corp screwing up over something which isn't even my fault to begin with.
I quit my workplace on good terms... I still keep in touch with over 20 of my former colleagues. And now the supervisors just HAD to dump all that goodwill out the window.
Gonna go take a nap. Hopefully I would have cooled down by then.
hubris is excessive self- pride. or at least thats the definition i think is common. correct me if wrong. if excessive self-pride is subjective then hubris is subjective. thus every one is guilty of it. now, if we put the reference level at zero, then any one who has the least bit of self-esteem has hubris.Originally posted by elindra:Everyone has some self pride
But self pride is =/= hubris
If one does not have a tiny bit of self pride, one does not have any self esteem at all.
Although excessive pride is subjective there is still a differentiation between self-pride and hubris

i would say self-pride is in itself hubris. but then again, i attach nosin or negative value to it. its not my religion.![]()

You should see how he lamb-blasted this girl who confessed in AA on how much she regretted cheating on her bf out of a moment's folly and the 'holier than thou' attitude really irked me till no end.Originally posted by the Bear:i still recommend suicide for him...
hey.. go the other way.. since he's so 'perfect', it is time for him to evolve to the next stage.. that of the 'divine' and for that, he has to slough off his humanity...
like the Heaven's Gate cultist ascended beyond humanity, he needs to castrate himself.. and then take the next step of suicide

what would u say abt allentyb then ?Originally posted by av98m:your good fren?![]()
i'm not complicating matters. varaince may come in, but then again you are going to have to find a way to measure before you can get your variance. the mean would be more important although i doubt you can achieve both. regardless the value would be above zero. unless you claim one can have no pride at all.Originally posted by elindra:Let's just say a good example of hubris is boka
There is a difference and having self-esteem certainly does not = hubris
I think you should just stop complicating things for yourself because if pride is at ground 0, having some pride would mean you are at ground zero too but an excessive amount of it to say 1 would be hubris since for every measurement there is still room for some variance.
oh well have fun with him. i'm thinking your attitude with him and the baiting might be offensive to some to.Originally posted by elindra:You should see how he lamb-blasted this girl who confessed in AA on how much she regretted cheating on her bf out of a moment's folly and the 'holier than thou' attitude really irked me till no end.

having no pride is ground zero and any amountcan be construed as hubris if you want to. it all depends on your frame of mind, reference and definition.
