If this is the USA, those people that kena letter and paid up can counter sue Odex for using criminal action against them and causing psychological trauma to the victims.
Because it will neevr be a criminal case. So what right does Odex have to threaten people with 5 years jail term? -
Honestly, I believe that Xedo was trying to pull a fast one when they did that... they were counting on many of the downloaders to get shaken up at the thought of jail and into paying a few thousand dollars instead to escape that.Originally posted by stellazio:Because it will neevr be a criminal case. Even in the Japanese laws, you are allowed to record a program and distribute it for non profit use.
