Anyway I always loved reading the Old Testament
It's more interesting to read to me at least -
the 1st time and the only time i will keep skipping class is BIBLE Studies in school (and got caught by Principal at least 3 times)....so...

The old testament has this magic element to it and it sounds like a fairy tale -
it's important that we don't become literalists in our interpretation of the scriptures, neh ? ....

Anyway, I'm agnostic.
The problem with having a religion is that you must have faith to experience it.
For me, I am just not the kind who will put my faith in something I have yet to experience and seriously just words besides the testimonals and all.
I always say,"Maybe my time is not up yet for me to be close to a religion"
Anyway I'm getting more family members turning Catholic -

Celtic, get hold of a king james's version, not the NIV one.
The acharic language with all the thees and thous make it even better. The NIV ones are in modern english. -

yes ... blind faith is an oxymoron ..... you cannot have faith in something if you're not even sure if it exist in the first place .......
but I felt something ... I had an epiphanic moment about a month ago that moved me to tears .... much to my own chagrin ..... so I can say what I have now is not blind faith ..... -

I was brought up an atheist ...... I took pride in being irreligious .... I took pride in cool, clinical logic ......
until that day ........ =)
I realized that it's important for all of us to have some form of emotional succor .... a source of solace when life gets to us ........
it matters not what we all believe in .... but it's good to believe in something .... -

the only time I went to a church at Toa Payoh, I think it is a Catholic church (near the Library one), is when my cha-bor class mate go pray to pass her exams.
I sat next to her,....and hoping i "kapo" the blessings from her, since I am a guest of the church....
but the place i like...serene and calm... -

My dad changed religioins like he changes his shirts in the past.
Right now I just believe there is a god but not one tied to a religion.
I believe one day I will figure out which religion is for me but right now I'm happy as I am without one. -

it's not a chore .... only half an hour during lunchie on weekdays .....
I find it strangely comforting to go to mass ... even though I am not a catholic (yet) ... and I ask for only a blessing during the eucharist ....
the fathers knew me by now ... and I'm glad that they are not those pushy, evangelist, happy clapping sort ....
but yeah ... ever since that epiphanic moment .... I've found comfort there .....
it's ironic .in a way ... the way I discovered faith ... -
