At this point, I'll take a clay pot anything. You don't know the depth of your cravings until you have no access to Sg food. There are days when I just crave crave crave for a nice plate of beef hor fun. Or tau suan with lots of yew char kwey on top. Or carrot cake, extra black, extra egg. Not soon enough. I have to renew my pp first. Expires this Feb. Lazy to renew really. Have to submit to the Sg mission in San Francisco by mail and pick up in person. I'm still incredibly riled over the pay fiasco that dragged me into a lot of crap.
The forensic scientist keeps telling me to let it slide.... after all, at the end of the day, money can still be earned in the future.
But still.... to be told that I'm holding on to $500++ that has to be returned is really, really painful to me.
Hell, if I hadn't insisted on proper accounting, they wouldn't have done it. And if I hadn't insisted on accounting for the CPF payments, I would have been cheated out of $130 in my personal CPF account.
Like I told the supervisor.... if an engineering student has to tell her to do all that, then something is very, very, VERY wrong. -
This kind of crap happens everywhere. What can you do? Sack the supervisor?

The supervisor might likely be stuck in the deadend job he or she is in and after Uni you are likely to be moving forward in life way ahead of her -
Yeah, it sux. If it can help in any way, the extra money wasn't yours to be in the first place...so you're not losing anything, other than the inconvenience and time lost, which can't be helped, but then in life, there'll be lots more of these kind of crap (not due to your fault) to come...trust me.Originally posted by fudgester:Yeah I know.... But at the same time, if that money had not come to me in the first place, I would have certainly reviewed my spending patterns. For one thing, I wouldn't have gone for that solo backpacking trip back in July.
Oh well... I'm sure the supervisor's wracked with guilt over all the trouble she caused for so many people.
And yeah, this is a sucky episode, but I've been through worse. I'll get over it.
