Like the older folks say: when you're hungry, anything tastes good!Originally posted by Fatum:last time in the army ...
my unit was on exercise in tekong .....
we were sick of eating combat rations after a few days ... so a couple of us sneaked down to SISPEC at night ... and raided their cookhouse ....
the rubbish bin was full of warm burger patties left over from their night snack .... we took a trash back full ....
and for dessert we raided the fruits left as offerings on the prayer altar there ....![]()

Coz they would be ahead of Singapore by sending some dude into space maOriginally posted by fudgester:*me mysteriously appears in a puff of smoke*
Gonna report to my prof soon regarding my progress on my FYP (which has been kinda slow).
In other news, I can't help but laugh at how the Malaysians are putting in so much fuss into sending some dude to space.
Not that it's my place to tell them how to spend their money.... but surely it would be far better spent on more pressing concerns such as corruption and poverty.
only about the altar.Originally posted by Ferret:i m mortified![]()
That's the only way to do it for us as we usually buy a few loaves at one time. Can't be bothered to go to the shop just for a loaf of bread at mid-week. Also, a loaf of bread is quite expensive in Oz (about $4.50) so we always try to buy them when they are on special (2 for $5 or sometimes $3.50 each).Originally posted by Wanda:I have recently started to freeze bread...just microwave it before eating...and it taste good as new. Also saved up to half a loaf per week.
thrash bins !Originally posted by hisoka:only about the altar.
that's precisely what's wrong with their country .... face matters more than substance to them ....Originally posted by fudgester:*me mysteriously appears in a puff of smoke*

Well, I'm just glad that we're not dumb enough to spend taxpayers' money on this sort of thing.Originally posted by elindra:Coz they would be ahead of Singapore by sending some dude into space ma

But we come pretty close though.... does anyone remember how $400,000 was spent on determining that Marina Bay should be named Marina Bay after all?![]()
actually i would consider throwing that name change money for no name change to be a bigger waste, at least they got something in return......Originally posted by fudgester:Well, I'm just glad that we're not dumb enough to spend taxpayers' money on this sort of thing.

I don't care if they anyhow spend their money and have lots of flops
I rather they continue with their expensive failures
Coz we will be so screwed if they clean up their act
if i was poor and needy only. i doubt that counted esp after they ate the pattiesOriginally posted by Wanda:Why u scared to eat food from the altar?
If I am poor and needy, I would not mind eating fruits taken from the altar too.
That makes sense. Although bread is easily available, I sometimes feel like buying more than one loaf to keep in the freezer, rather than having to determine at midweek if we need another half loaf or full loaf to last till Friday (we only eat bread on weekdays).Originally posted by honeymouse:That's the only way to do it for us as we usually buy a few loaves at one time. there's a line there, drawn between had to...and WANT TO.Originally posted by Fatum:there was a trash bag lining the bin lah ....
sides .... we were soldiers ......
we had to eat bread thrown onto the ground before ... so warm burger patties in a fresh trash bag in a bin is nothing ....![]()
