Just for emphasis...mabbe we could just put our doubts aside whether this is a scam or not and just look into the whole concept and its workability...

To carry it further, its like buying a ticket of 4D. where u pay $1 for a number and hope it "open".
In the proposed annuity scheme by the gabramen, you pay a premium and hope you "open" which in this case means living past 85 yrs and beyond.

The reason they gave for this is :
All bids are sealed, so other bidders do not know what you have bid. This means that unlike most online auctions, once you have the winning bid, sniping is less of a worry, as knocking out a winning bid just before an auction closes is harder to do if you don't know what it is.
Which I guess works either way... -

I think ultimately, the only way to make it work is to make it compulsory ONLY for folks who do not have any form of retirement fund planning, and exempt all others who have their own plans.
