i've heard horror stories from Gain City... how they conned DVD players and other things like that from their customers who bought other things from them...
they offered to "fill in the guarantee forms" for items like fridges and airconditioners.. then pocketed the things which came free with the original item...

cheapo DVD players can get almost anywhere... go look for brands like Shinco, Akira, Enzer or whatever... they'll play ANYTHING... including MP3, wma, jpegs, SACDs, VCDs, SVCDs...

oh.. these days, DVD players come with 2.1 or 5.1 sound... for 2.1, you just need the regular 2.1 speakers...
for 5.1, you can get cheapo Akira 5.1 speakers for about $60
