  watching History Channel now..
  
  they're lamenting lost things now in the US..
  
  one of them is the Red Line trams in California.. these companies were bought out and destroyed by the car and oil companies... years later, California is kicking itself now.. no mass transit anymore there...

  i know the feeling of suddenly being indispensible when there is work to be done
  
  i've already told my boss i wanted to go somewhere at a certain time.. she said 'okay' then went ahead and made work plans which i had to go do anyway
  
  i'm telling her i'm going to melbourne no matter what next year...
