until i went to uni and suddenly i cant write anything anymore -

the lady who gave birth is back from maternity leave.. so half the office is in her cubicle as if to get her up to speed with the office gossip
hmm.. thinking about my inability to eat more than 1 fritter.. things bode ill for my performance at the gluttony session this saturday -

Actualy when I was in Uni i was still okay.. ..
its the huge break between then and NOW that makes essay writing difficult for me.... cos how often do you write 10 page essays?!! Oh especially since my job doesn't require me to write papers at all.
sigh.. just squeezed out half a page.. now trickled onto page 5. Supposed to write minimum 10 pages.... -
I love English composition. however, I hate comprehension as I am weak in English.
I was good in M&M => Mathematics and Mandarin.
Failed English during prelims...go work part time, amazingly I pass well in O'level, went into JC, struggled Maths C (never study A Maths), and gotten improvement my GP and managed to pull thru Maths C and English during A Level...
Reality hits when I have to shoulder family responsibilities (the sole bread winner), have to work since then...
I always envy...those who has the chance to study further and even going overseas to study..
Maybe next life.... -

this sets me thinking.
when looking at people requesting transfers into our dept, we've been filtering out 2 types of people. the really senior ones a few years from retirement, and those likely to get pregnant and take maternity leave within a year.
this is from very bad past experience with these types

And the pick up is now more of a lifestyle item in USA. Says you are rugged. Which is why a pick up is now more expensive then a small japanese car.
And there is more accessories available. Its now a lifestyle. Not a poor man's vehicle anymore. And forget about getting a twincab, it just means more fetching, sending & ferrying.
If you are planning to transport maybe a dirt bike or whatever bike on it. Skip the twincab cos there wont be much space.
And if even if you do need it for the above. You need a real low bed pick up or it will be heck horrible to bring the bikes up. So those new fangled, souped up, jacked up, fancy dandy pick ups wont work. And low bed pick ups are rare in USA. It was also quite rare in Thailand. I know cos my father has 3 there.
In USA, even in my sister's affluent neighbourhood. Sees a lot of pick ups there. Even the mexican workers driving old style battered pick up choose to jack up their pickup so its easier to clear some humps. -

yeah.. a humvee is useless..
a 6.5 litre V8 turbo diesel gives about 200hp and the atmospheric engine gives 165hp
that's pathetic..
the sheer weight of it causes it to be insanely fuel inefficient..
you can barely steer the thing because it's too huge and you can't see when you're trying to park..
the sheer stupidity of people who buy it for civilian use is amazing -

when i was in uni, i had to fight to keep the papers under control.. that is, overkill of information, ideas and stuff like that..

basically, they're screwed from the credit crunch from the sub-prime mess, the price of oil is going through the roof as the Turks may take it out on Kurds in Iraq for the US calling the Armenian Genocide a genocide, the mess which Dubbya created all over the world which they cannot extract themselves from, China and India becoming the pre-eminent economic superpowers (they're actually producing more than consuming)..
and a while lot more..
economists are seeing the signs of the crash coming..

We are managing for such a major case coming up this month. And there is now tons of study material for such a patient in our office.
