As long as PSE&G can afford to keep sending out trucks and servicemen to attend to these downed-lines, the situation will remain status-quo. It would probably be in their best interests (long-term) however, to research a more rodent-proof solution.
PSE&G is not liable for paying any of Lindsey's claim (if that's what Parousia6 was hinting at), Lindsey will have to file a claim with her insurance company for that...
It is understandable that PSE&G denies responsibility for the squirrels chewing through the lines. It's not as if they purposely designed the lines out of squirrel-food. Just an unfortunate circumstance. Parousia6, sorry it has happened to you repeatedly.
In the meantime, have you considered a bird-feeder? Give the squirrels something else to chew on besides lethal power equipment. Yes, bird/squirrel feeders cost money, but weigh that against your aggravation, loss of power, and potentially losing your possessions to a flaming rodent

I don't have problems with people getting themselves a foreign bride as long as the age gap is not ridiculas and that they can afford to provide for the family or if they are not ridden with a whole load of health problems. -

I had to drive down to regina today, a city about 3 hours south of here ....
I started off at 6am, so by the time I arrived I was cranky, I had to pee, and stiff ....
I got lost of course .... and somehow managed to turn into a one way street without realizing it ... I was a bit slow, and didn't realize that all the cars on the side were parked facing me .....
I happily drove by a whole convoy of cars, each one horning at me in turn, until I came to the end of the street and realized what happened ... -
after watching a few shows featuring viet food, i don't think there is such a thing as 'healthy viet cuisine'
