you know, that might be a plus point if the teacher is in for the paycheckOriginally posted by stellazio:teachers no good leh..
nowadays they are asked to do so much bullshit that is not even related to their work which is teach.
and instead it is the tuition teachers who are the one doing the real teaching.
Hisk, u wanna be teacher??Originally posted by hisoka:yeah heard about that. I wonder if its abit heavy

it pains me to see people who really don't like kids enter teaching
they complain about their days, they dislike the kids
and it trickles all the way down to their teaching
and it isn't simply that they do 'little good'
but that they do more harm than whatever 'little good' they can contribute.
thinking about it. might not be a bad job. but dunno if i can teach jcOriginally posted by LOTUSfairy:Hisk, u wanna be teacher??![]()

I don't know, so far no job really interests me. I guess i would be far happier if I was rich enough to not work. then i can go and do some interesting stuff and learn. As it is I'm poor and need a good job so given the lack of interest in others, passion about a job isn't exactly a criteria I'm looking atOriginally posted by elindra:For some jobs, you need to be passionate about it
Others you can make do without passion but ><"
Seriously Hisk, what is it you really wanna do
ITE still can't add up 1/4 + 1/4Originally posted by Fatum:it is ... and my father gets to deal with the end results .... (he teaches in ITE)
don't get me wrong, there are some outstanding students there, but often, those who get filtered out and marked as hopeless cases by their teachers end up there also ....
I'll never forget the time he told me about one of his students who couldn't calculate 1/4 + 1/4 ... and that when he has to teach them laplace transforms ....
wanda's right ... if you're not going to be passionate about it, then don't do it ...
hmmz, I suppose or think i can be sufficiently bo chup to let it go at the end of the dayOriginally posted by ShrodingersCat:Err i don't know you and don't know if you are
but do be prepared for unreasonable, unruly, ill behaved children
and ask yourself if you can face 40 of them, day after day
and not hold it against them
else u will end up unhappy and bitter in your job.
I think you're looking at the pay check rather than the job...Originally posted by hisoka:I don't know, so far no job really interests me. Its so easy to get kicked out of mainstream. A lot of the students some of my friends teach in other special ed schools are really 'borderline' cases. They get 'recommended' to special schools becos teachers can't handle them in the mainstream pressure. But even after they improve, its near impossible for them to return to mainstream.Originally posted by Fatum:results .... (he teaches in ITE)

cos when kids are naughty.. they are just naughty. Usually no malice intended.
But when teenagers don't like you, they will deliberately make things difficult for you. AND every part of it purposefully done.
