those curves and intersects are really first order derivatives you know .... in other words, dy/dx ....Originally posted by KittynMeow:I guess I was able to handle the basic calculations in econs.... vs all those dy/dx stuff that I really suck at in Maths....
besides, econs require theory... which is something I'm really good at "smoking" out to score points... hahahahaha
erm, making money?Originally posted by elindra:What is it you find interesting that you want to learn?
Working offers you that opportunity too and you get paid for it.
I mean if you wanna talk about "I wish I don't have to work and still survive", I believe most of us feel that way lor
But if you don't start somewhere you will just drift.
I remember that the night before my O levels paper for maths, I had insomnia cos the moment I closed my eyes, I saw all the mathematical formulae floating in front of my eyes..... it was HORROR!!!!Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:AAAaaaaaaaaaahhhh...
no maths.. plsss.. no maaaaatthhssssss

Hohoho this reminds me of the major fallout and showdown I had with my school principalOriginally posted by the Bear:you ever see schools which pressure the students who score Cs to drop the subject even when the student shows interest in it?
because it'll pull down the school average...
principals are now just bean counters... nothing more..
it's a sad cynical world we live in when schools are more interested in showing that they have achieved "SQA Award" and whatever.. and the management is more interested in those things than the actual education of the children...

I know... but somehow I think my brain fails to function when it recognises it as Mathematics... as opposed to a smokey subject like econs....Originally posted by Fatum:those curves and intersects are really first order derivatives you know .... in other words, dy/dx ....![]()
Hey, i always failed maths in school, until i finally found the one and only tuition teacher who knew how to teach me...and I ended up with a B3 or something for maths, so there is hope.Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:AAAaaaaaaaaaahhhh...

Yeah i don't i don't get why I should not try to get the job i want. the assessment is meant as a way to reduce the candidates and I need to get a way around it to get to the next stageOriginally posted by the Bear:you still don't get it do you?
we tried to explain to you that they are trying to find a good fit for the job.. all you wanted to do was to cheat your way so that you will look good for the job... it'll only end in tears for both the company and you...
heck! even in no-consequence psychological tests and stuff like that, you're more interested in getting the 'correct answers' when there are none... they're for you to assess where your strengths and weaknesses are, not for you to achieve a certain grade or something...
i had a B3 for A maths.... but... yes, it is thanks to my tuition teacher and really a lot of painful PAINFUL 10 year series..Originally posted by Wanda:Hey, i always failed maths in school, until i finally found the one and only tuition teacher who knew how to teach me...and I ended up with a B3 or something for maths, so there is hope.![]()
I'm not sure I would want my children (if i have any) to be taught by a teacher like you....Originally posted by hisoka:Yeah i don't i don't get why I should not try to get the job i want. the assessment is meant as a way to reduce the candidates and I need to get a way around it to get to the next stage
nope no-consequence ones that i do are all honest. Not sure where you got that impression..........
ya. those 2 are my A levels subjects.Originally posted by KittynMeow:hehehe Lit... another fav subject of mine... I'm a humanities person.... I can score at Lit and History without studying... hahahahah
my offer to be super blatant still standsOriginally posted by elindra:Aiyo I said that only to deter someone but apparently it didn't work
Then I just post the names on the front page for ppl to reconfirm but apparently that didn't work too
i got a B for my O history at the expense of my other subjects dropping a gradeOriginally posted by KittynMeow:hehehe Lit... another fav subject of mine... I'm a humanities person.... I can score at Lit and History without studying... hahahahah

oh yes.... I remember those painful 10-year series exercises..... hated those too though they did get me a B3 for O levels.... so by the time i got to A levels, i decided to say bye to Maths... hahhaaOriginally posted by ShrodingersCat:i had a B3 for A maths.... but... yes, it is thanks to my tuition teacher and really a lot of painful PAINFUL 10 year series..

With all this talk on schools.... I've got my S$0.02 to toss in.
The standards of our school teachers have been dropping drastically.
I've seen my tuition kid's Science teacher telling him that vernier calipers are used to measure dimensions in meters. And so, a reading of '4.10' on the vernier calipers corresponds to a length of 4.10 metres.
Or how about this.... an Ar of 1.0008 for hydrogen means that an atom of hydrogen has 0.0008 neutrons.
I'd like to slap the face of the fella who signed the degrees of these pseudoteachers.![]()
