yeah... one of the directors at work here, just got married and she's in her late 50s...
we've seen her with her husband... both their faces light up when they see each other
thing is, we're unable to refer to her as "Mrs Lee" and still unconsciously refer to her as "Miss Ho" (and no.. it's not the PM and his husband.. it's just an unfortunate coincidence
)
it's now settled that we continue referring to her as "Miss Ho"

I think Fatum you are getting very cynical about love
If everyone thought like you, no one will be in love or wanna get married coz there will be no relationship to speak about.
Anyway love is a strange thing
I no longer get heart palpitations when I see MPB like when we are dating but does that mean I love him less? I may no longer feel the rush of love but my feelings for him is still love, and if not stronger than in the past.
At the same time if you keep thinking you will get hurt in the relationship and allows it to hold you back, you will never know if you miss the person or not.
You know, you will not get the girl for you on the 1st strike
Heck, that happens sometimes but that means they are lucky or made the effort for the relationship to work.
The problem these days is that alot of people do not want to make a relationship work. Divorce is on the lips without trying to iron out the problems .
A relationship cannot survive on love alone. Love makes it easier but ultimately the couple will still have to work on it .
Ultimately, instead of waiting for the ONE to appear in front of you, you should just go with the flow because the person whom you think might not be for you, might ultimately be the one for you in the end. -

can't help overhearing the clerks gossipping just outside my cubicle...
they were talking about some people we know.. they got their marriage annulled
because the guy's family has to be barking mad and he's also barking mad.. and i don't understand how the girl didn't see it coming..
thing is, i won't wish either of them on my worst enemy
the guy.. EVERYONE in his family is totally and utterly controlled by the grandmother dowager.. and then by the mother dowager.. as in CONTROLLED.. all movement, all everything is commanded by the two.. and where they want to go to or even go out has to go through the two matriachs and they have vetoed his movement like going out to dinner and stuff like that!
then on the other hand, i've had my run-ins with the woman at work.. she's an unreasonable, maniacal control-freak with no regard for anything at all including reason, logic and dignity...
somehow, they got together and ended up married.. and then marriage was annulled...
i'm still surprised (as are the clerks) that even under the control of the matriachs, the guy actually got together with the harpy of a woman... and that harpy of a woman didn't see the other two harpies in the guy's family -

the harpy probably saw a prey that was pre-trained to be her slave.
