back from a quick lunch...
i think my boss is not only mad, she's senile too...
effing got blamed (even when she said "it's my fault for... " ) when it was HER EXPLICIT INSTRUCTIONS to do something...
i gave up arguing with her and am too mentally drained to do so.. so i just sat there with a blank look...
effing wrote in the proposal to the big bosses EVERYTHING with a total step-by-step itemisation of the quotation.. with the fixed cost of one part and the variable cost of the other, the estimated variable cost and the estimated total cost...
itemised in a table, nicely written and explained...
and i did that for the two competing quotes...
i think it was beyond her ability to understand anything that systematic.. so she said "no.. i want one figure.. to compare with the other one figure..."
it was basically apple and oranges.. i was looking at the total package and the value for money comparison.. she insisted.. ONE FIGURE against ONE FIGURE...
so, i did away with the itemisation and put in an estimate figure for one, estimated figure for the other..
guess what?
no.. cannot compare like that.. both must be on the same level (one vendor needs 5 days x their daily cost, while the other says they need 3.5 days x their variable cost)
so, must multiply both variable costs by 5 days to 'show parity'
i'm going "WHAT THE F**K ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??"
so i did it anyway.. after i told her it's not the true costs.. but she nagged at me a lot more... so i thought.. screw it.. let it be..
now, everything is up and running, all approved, and she's on my case about my not putting in the proper costs and all that.. and she went on an on..
my colleague was also stunned silent.. he REMEMBERED i itemised everything and she told me to lump it all together... but i put my hand out telling him "nevermind"
sheesh..
i think the vendor's here..
back with more rants later..
