mistakes made in the past, if taken to heart and pondered over become lessons learnt.. hopefully, we become wiser... and learn not to commit the same mistakes again...

He wants to enact an 'all embracing Parliamentary Act' to 'eradicate anti-social behaviour and produce a gracious society'. Like many Sporeans, his solution to all problems is 'fine, ban, jail'.
And yet Singaporeans ask themselves why everyone in the rest of the world thinks they are weird.
The mark of a gracious society does not arise from an Act of Parliament, or through campaigns. It comes from years of living in a society with a gracious government with enlightened people.
Mr Quah says that Singaporeans behave in a Third World manner and these behaviours tarnish our 'First World image'. With his letter, he has further buttressed the notion that Singapore is - and will probably be for some time to come - a Third World nation in every sense of the word.

He has a point you know though I wouldn't say it's coming from the right country especially since most of the boorish behavior comes from China -
friend of mine just got accepted into the management trainee program after 19 years at SAFEWAY (supermarkets) ....
his salary is going to double within the year ... and I'm getting slooshed again tonight ...
