How much is a talent cost?
Lets hypothetically say $120K a month as a minimum.
Now, how many children can be given free education with this monthly sum ?
In 1 year, how many children have we provided free education by cutting 1 headcount that costs $120K a month?
120K not much for GDP.
FREE Education should also be not much compared to GDP.
How come suddenly GDP comes in and what does free education have to do with the GDP????? Government spending? Is he trying to say that?

In Canada they have free education for the natives and it is damn jialet liao lor
If you have free education for EVERY Citizen I will see all hell break loose
Plus, Casino is to generate revenue
Free Education is an expense

As for the SC chap, I think he's talking about paying top civil servants more (to keep the GDP up, it must have come from Lau Lee's 'sense of proportion' speech) vs subsidising the needs of the poor. I'm not saying that he has any good point to make though. -

Elsewhere I don't like the looks of these right-wing parties and activist groups. They claim to be upholding anti-immigration policies in order to curb crime, but their activities border on racism. And the minorities can feel the hostility and the tension towards them.
And at the same time, you have outspoken Muslim leaders saying that we should adopt arranged marriage and Syariah law, hoping to impose it in countries where they or their parents moved to relatively recently.
The future isn't looking so bright.

the anti-immigration fellas will bring out the very obvious.. where those who have migrated to another country, refuse to assimilate themselves into the society there and start up some enclave...
then they inflict the very things they have run away from on others around them...
