  here's the thing.. if they wanted everything to be like where they were before, why the hell did they leave in the first place?

  I don't think that the majority of them are seeking/sought refuge from oppression, but are/were looking for economic opportunities. I think the former would be more appreciative of their chance to live in a safer political climate.
  
  What I don't like about the current right-wing attitude is that every coloured or Muslim person is regarded with hostility, whether they are contributing positively to their adopted society or otherwise - even the people who silently accepting what's available to them.

  But i m interested in the movie - Golden Compass
  Note : Feature Ferret....
  
  Another movie - The Mist (Stephen King)...
