I actually have to do things like calculate the expected assembly time of a device based on the time it takes to handle and fix each component.
E.g:
- screw tightening takes 9 seconds.
- large symmetrical parts take 1.13 seconds to be handled, etc etc....![]()

We always have honey baked ham but but but my fave supermarket near the house had a good deal. Free fixings if you buy a turkey! Free 5 pound bag of potatoes, free can of cranberries, free bag of stuffing and free chicken broth. All organic some more. I searched and searched for the smallest turkey I could find but nada. Had to buy a 12-14 pound bird. We need help. When you coming?
Yeah.... they made full use of forced slave labour.Originally posted by the Bear:well, these are all part of the business process
you know why the Germans lost WWII right?
they had superior equipment but they had inferior assembly processes..
Originally posted by fudgester:Yeah.... they made full use of forced slave labour.
Some of the slave labour figured out how to sabotage some of the processes, like adding sand to artillery shell propellants to deactivate them.
And their efforts did not go unnoticed... lots of surviving GIs would invariably talk about dud artillery shells landing within meters of their shellscrapes.![]()
lucky its not a women's magazine..Originally posted by the Bear:argh!! my disreputation takes another hammering in the office
there is a special offer going around... subscribe to magazines and they give you $20 off.. per person per subscription..
so the clerical officer wants to order 1 magazine and her teenaged daughter wants another.. so she asked me if can put under my name since i don't want any of those magazines.. it's $20 cheaper.. so i say okay...
she puts my name under a teenager magazine... that's for her teenaged daughter...

Ironically enough, it made use of the American-designed Christie suspension system.Originally posted by the Bear:not just that.. the Tiger tank was universally feared.. but it took too damned long to make one... while the Russians turned out the T34 by the thousands.. rough, tough and ready
