I tend to order delivery that will see me through a few meals, and because of time spent with my new toys, I have only been eating one or one and a half meals a day. -

guys.. here's a piece of advice.. buy health insurance if and when you are healthy.. lots of it.. make sure the insurance will enable you to get into a private hospital...
because i just got a text message telling me about my medical appointment for my spine with NUH on 7 Jan 2008...
thing is.. the last time i went to NUH was in Sept 2006 when i got my 2nd relapse of a slipped disc...
to make the story even more insane, here's the whole thing...
on 31 Dec 2004, i had my first relapse when at work.. on 3 Jan 2005, it started to hurt like a &*$# so i went to the polyclinic to get a referral... well, try as they might, they could only get NUH to see me in 4 months' time.. during which, i was supposed to grin and bear it... i had an appointment with the ortho for my messed up knees so i told them i'll go crash NUH since it was ortho anyway (my knees are still messed up)
well, i went there and there was a hue and cry amongst the doctors there because i went for my spine instead of my knees.. but they grudgingly saw me anyway...
so they put me on intensive traction and all that.. and i went to see a chiropractor.. all was well.. (remember the appointment made by the polyclinic.. it rears its ugly head later)
so in Sept 2006, i messed up the back again.. this time, the chiropractor didn't help.. it got so bad i went to the NUH A&E.... the A&E doc pumped me full of painkillers and put me in for observation.. after waking up from being knocked out cold from the injections, i heard my name being mentioned in a shouting match.. i looked and saw the A&E doc on the phone.. she then came over and apologised to me that the ortho can only see me in a week's time.. i thanked her for her care and asked to go home to wait..
when at home, i got my folks to start shaking their contacts to see if anyone knows an ortho.. it was already late in the evening when we found one who said to just come in to Alexandra Hospital the next morning.. he saw me and put me on rehab, traction and all kinds of things... with follow-ups and all that..
last year, some of you know i ended up in AH again because of this.. but i was well looked after by the doctors and nurses there...
which brings us to the point of this tirade... the text message of NUH...
guess what? it is to remind me of my appointment.. it is actually the follow-up of that day i crashed their ortho clinic in Jan 2005...
so.. boys and girls.. you know what to do.. go see your health insurer.. get covered... -

in fact, i don't feel like working at all
but today, the boss is ill.. but she'll come back and spread her disease later in the afternoon in a pointless meeting with the vendor.. which can be postponed anyway.. i don't know what her problem is
well, i'm going to take it easy anyway.. go do my things.. stress-free

Happy New Year, everyone!!! Hope the year 2008 will be a great year for you.
I still want to be on holiday. Spent my entire Christmas break (from 22/12 - 01/01) with my hubby and in-laws at their holiday house in Phillip Island. It was a very nice and relaxing break with lots of sleep, food, fun etc.
Spoilt rotten by my hubby & in-laws with the nice Christmas presents including 2 new DS games, 2 x DVD, Ipod accessories for the car, cookbook, a sandwich press (for me & hubby from my parents in law) and griller (for me & hubby from my brother in law).
Went out fishing a few times (caught 2 Whitings and a Trevally) and only went to the beach to swim once when the temperature hit 40 deg.
Hubby lost his wedding ring when he was swimming as the water was cold and the ring slipped off his finger. Anyway, will have to get him a new one this weekend. He feels rather sad about it but unfortunately this thing does happen. I think it's rather common for people to lose their ring.
So for those who wear rings, remember to take it off before you go swimming especially in places like Oz & overseas where water seems to be cold.
