Oh my gosh... I don't even know what an HD TV is!!!Originally posted by the Bear:oh yeah.. while i was being badgered by my aunt last night, she said she likes my tv.. i offered it to her.. seriously..
if she takes my offer and carts it away, i'll be looking for a HD-ready (not full HD) tv in my room.. which opens the way for a PS3

I think it takes more than being caring to be a great nurseOriginally posted by Rhonda:Waaah!! So caring!! You will make a great nurse!!![]()

Actually, I think my eyesight is too flawed to know the difference!Originally posted by the Bear:a HD-ready tv is 1366x768 resolution...
a full HD tv is 1920x1080 resolution...
the normal tv in Singapore is 640x480
Believe you me, there are days when I look at the situation, and then I stop talking for the rest of the shift because it's too traumatic to handle.Originally posted by elindra:I think it takes more than being caring to be a great nurse
After hearing your horror stories on the cleaning and literally sai kang you have to do and the abuse you have to put up with
I don't think I can last a day![]()

In any case, you won't know that it's more brilliant and the images are sharper unless you have other TV right beside it to compare with, right?
Using that line of thought, that's the reason why i think TV ads for TV is silly... if I can see your TV's high resolution blah blah on MY TV screen, then MY TV is good enough!![]()

I cannot handle blood and goreOriginally posted by Rhonda:Believe you me, there are days when I look at the situation, and then I stop talking for the rest of the shift because it's too traumatic to handle.
Blood and gore I can handle... it's the hygiene issues that are really tough.

Looks at my TV... ok, not going there... not going to change it now!!!Originally posted by the Bear:you'd be surprised at the difference...
go look at the sony bravia full HD screens.. seriously..
anyway, the PS3 requires at least a HD-ready screen to show off its potential
If the patient cannot help himself/herself and you know they'd want to be independant if they could, I find that I will go all out to help him/her.Originally posted by elindra:I cannot handle blood and gore

Ah, so you're there working as a nurse. There is some other forumite called fymk working in Australia in the medical field too right?Originally posted by Rhonda:If the patient cannot help himself/herself and you know they'd want to be independant if they could, I find that I will go all out to help him/her.
BUT, if the patient CAN do things for themselves, and chooses not to because of sheer laziness / emotional or psych issues, then I find that I'm not so sympathetic at all.
Recently, i had this 19 year old patient I wanted to smash his head in because he came in for a ? backache that we all suspected was of a psychosomatic aka pseudo origin and his subsequent behaviour proved us right. He would languish in bed the whole day and refuse to shower, and even refuse to get out of bed so I could change his bedsheets!!!

And yet, after he went for a special injection into the spinal cord, he came back ecstatic saying that it was ultra effective, it works like magic.
Now, ALL of the patients I know who've had the same injection take at least 24 hours before they get relief.
Geng or not? You know, I know.
You can download Mario kart for PSPOriginally posted by Yvlaine:I almost got DS for Mario Kart. Then I realised the graphics looked so dated, I really couldn't take it.
I'm not a graphics person, but the pixel quality looked that much worse on a small screen as opposed to a big screen.
Anyway, kinda gave up on paying for e-gadgets. Not even getting the PS3. Like i mentioned, my PSP is a gift.
Sigh...trying to save up to get a place of our own.
How did you find it? It's tough, right?Originally posted by zoragirl:juz wan to try out something different....

Yup! She used to work here as a nurse. We met up a few times. In fact, the last time I saw her was about a week or two ago.Originally posted by Yvlaine:Ah, so you're there working as a nurse. There is some other forumite called fymk working in Australia in the medical field too right?
