there are rumblings in the papers of people getting very fed up of the enbloc nonsense.. says that they spent a crapload on upgrading the condo just to see an enbloc effort before the last bits of plaster is dry...
in other news, i hope to be able to get a unit around austin's.. it's very very nice

Good afternoon........
It's another hot day in Melbourne today.... 37 deg.
Went to my specialist in the morning and then went to Harvey Norman to have a look at fridge, freezer and tv.
We went to another store last night too and the person gave us a bundle price so we just wanted to compare and see which store offers the better deal. Anyway, we ended up getting the stuffs from Harvey Norman. Lots of $$ just go out of the window......
On the bright side, we only have to wait till now to buy them as my in-laws gave us their old fridge and freezer when we first moved into our house. Imagine to have to buy those when we first got the house, on top of the wedding and other expenses..... -
i gotta clean up my room before i can see about replacing some stuff

Everything will be delivered to us middle of the month as the TV won't be available until middle of the month. The salesperson told us they could deliver the fridge and freezer to us first but I just can't be bothered to have 2 different deliveries. It's easy to just have one.

they're cheap here if you get cheapo brands like Akira which is basically Sony technology a couple of generations back..

We went to another store yesterday and the store tried to sell us LG. It's cheaper than Sony. But when we came home and did a little bit of research on the internet, most people think Sony is still the best. So we thought, since we are already spending quite a bit on the LG TV if we were to get it, we might as well spend a little bit more to get something of better quality. We are not buying the new TV because of the new technology in the market but more because we really need one. One of our TV (CRT) with bigger screen played up a few months ago so we have been using the small one from our bedroom. It's really hard to watch any movie on such a small screen, especially without my glasses.
As for our stand alone fridge and freezer, they are starting to play up too. The fridge is not cold enough and the milk keeps on going off before the used by date. The freezer, on the other hand, the top 2 drawers stop to freeze a few months ago. In Oz, it might cost you more to get a technician out to fix it than to get a new one. We did try to get one to look at our fridge and he couldn't find anything wrong. Ended having to pay him $110 for coming out.
