Anyway I think we will have problems with the pay cap for the Boon Keng flat
I remembered HDB called us up to warn us about our pay then when we applied for HDB directly through HDB (though we didn't get it) before we got married. Now lagi jialet
Anyway I think it's a better idea to wait for the market to crash and I'll go bug my dad for the houseOriginally posted by the Bear:yeah.. even if the couple decides to throw $4,000 a month on the thing, it'll take at least 20 years to pay off..
I think my dad is crying nowOriginally posted by the Bear:oh well... nevermind..
everyone's waiting..
there are rumblings in the papers of people getting very fed up of the enbloc nonsense.. says that they spent a crapload on upgrading the condo just to see an enbloc effort before the last bits of plaster is dry...
in other news, i hope to be able to get a unit around austin's.. it's very very nice

The TV we bought is a Sony and there's a promotion at the moment that it comes with a PS3. Oh well, we will have to send our receipt to Sony to claim it.Originally posted by the Bear:i gotta clean up my room before i can see about replacing some stuff

Everything will be delivered to us middle of the month as the TV won't be available until middle of the month. The salesperson told us they could deliver the fridge and freezer to us first but I just can't be bothered to have 2 different deliveries. It's easy to just have one.![]()
This is the TV we are getting. We didn't pay for the full price as shown on the web though.Originally posted by the Bear:wah!! a PS3!
you must have bought a HDTV
but the Wii is not HDTV compatible...

We just need to have component cable and the TV just won't display the resolution required by Wii. It should still be ok.![]()
Yeah.. if no facilities, then if the price is so similiar to private condo... hmm...Originally posted by elindra:No la seriously if we only have 8k combined income I wouldn't even consider that Boon Keng place
Too asspensive la and once you hit 8k you don't qualify anyway
Also if you live with your parents the combined income is 12k
Like that might as well wait for the market to slide and buy a private condo since not much price diff

We went to another store yesterday and the store tried to sell us LG. It's cheaper than Sony. But when we came home and did a little bit of research on the internet, most people think Sony is still the best. So we thought, since we are already spending quite a bit on the LG TV if we were to get it, we might as well spend a little bit more to get something of better quality. Turned out the price difference after the discount etc is only around $700 so not too bad.Originally posted by the Bear:wow! top of the line 40-inch Bravia
i was telling pinkybear to go get a smaller HD-ready for a PS3 she wanted
they're cheap here if you get cheapo brands like Akira which is basically Sony technology a couple of generations back..
i'm thinking of one too![]()

We are not buying the new TV because of the new technology in the market but more because we really need one. One of our TV (CRT) with bigger screen played up a few months ago so we have been using the small one from our bedroom. It's really hard to watch any movie on such a small screen, especially without my glasses.
As for our stand alone fridge and freezer, they are starting to play up too. The fridge is not cold enough and the milk keeps on going off before the used by date. The freezer, on the other hand, the top 2 drawers stop to freeze a few months ago. In Oz, it might cost you more to get a technician out to fix it than to get a new one. We did try to get one to look at our fridge and he couldn't find anything wrong. Ended having to pay him $110 for coming out.![]()
We will.... when we get it next week......Originally posted by the Bear:enjoy it
you now get to buy blu-ray DVDs instead of the normal DVDs because the PS3 will play it
and you'll be amazed by how good the picture is like![]()
Speaking of which, there seems to be a new development outside Great World City. It is a new condo, though, how many blocks they will be building, I have no idea.Originally posted by Fatum:some developers think that Singaporeans are suckers when it comes to property ... well ... the joke's on them ....
