Before coming to Melbourne, I got hold of a few travel guides and read them but the road names, building names etc meant nothing to me so even though I read them, it was like reading fiction, almost as if it's of no relevance.
Last year, I bought a few books on Korea, because I aim to travel there by 2010. Same experience... just cannot remember the things I want to remember, and whatever I read just cannot sink in.
I guess it's one thing to read and prepare a trip, and really quite another to actually see, touch, feel, smell and do things. -

But I don't want to bring back anyone on my visit back. I'm back on a "mission". Well, yeah, Club 30 feasts are on the agenda but not THE "mission"! 
I'm returning home to be an aunt for the very first time! 
The baby girl is going to be a Rat too, just like her aunt! So I'm making sure that she grows up to be part of the Rat Pack! 
We'll talk more about men when I return! If we organise a Ladies only event, like we used to do, you'll be invited! -

Vietnamese is not a language that's easy to try to pronounce the words and you stand a high chance of getting it right. There are Cantonese-speaking Vietnamese too. I didn't know until I went to Victoria Street and started speaking to the Vietnamese shop owners there and learnt a bit more about their culture.

my ex little boss has instructed the recept to remove me in his email group. cos i'm not his secretary anymore, no pt i get his emails...
i've been getting everyone's emails in my dept cos in case of any secretary not ard, i can take over mah... i think cos today i say client send reminder on an urgent filing they sent last thurs. i asked his secretary if the filing done, cos today deadline... and how come nvr acknowledged? and client has to send us a reminder....
the file is in HIS room and his secretary didn't read the emails... >.<
so with effect from tml, i'll only get my boss emails... and don't anyone of them come asking me abt THEIR emails anymore!!!!! [which is mainly my ex little boss]... -

Also, sometimes, the relative distance as interpreted on maps, isn't quite like what you'd expect, right? Like you think, "Oh! I can walk to Location A from B using Road C!" But then, in actual fact, Road C is not safe or not exactly a user-friendly road and you're better off going via Road D.
I love to plan ahead for trips, but sometimes, I work myself up into a frenzied headache! -

The last one we took, I kept it in a 'safe' place, so 'safe' that I can't remember where it is!
Just like the diamond + blue topaz earrings my mom bought for me as a good luck gift when I left for Melbourne - took them off to put on hiao earrings, kept them in a very 'safe' place, and then I cannot find them anymore because it's so 'safe', I cannot remember where! -
