I was thinking to myself that I don't think I can carry on nursing until retirement and I'd love to work in a bookshop / florist / music shop / DVD rental place / pet shop pre-retirement!
I miss the CD shops in Singapore - they carried a wide range of genres. Here, no one has ever heard of Ronan Hardiman or even, Chris Spheeris!!![]()
yah it's now getting exp to take cab... and mrt is CROWDED!!!!Originally posted by Rhonda:![]()
I wonder if the situation will ever improve. I mean, if too many people start to avoid taking taxis, the taxi drivers will start to feel the pinch and they might try to get the authorities to lower the cab fares or else they won't be able to earn a decent living.I feel so sorry for the cab drivers.
Looks like when I return home in April, I'd better not go around in cabs like I did the last time.I think I only took the bus service twice and the MRT two to three times the previous trip.
I felt so deprived because taxis here are unbelievably costly and you stand the risk of your driver playing tricks like pretending not to know the venue and taking the longer route so when I was back, it was taxis all the way.
Incidentally, yesterday, I met a few Aussies at work who had visited Singapore within the past two years. They all agreed that previously, it was cheap and good to visit SG but nowadays, it's become too expensive to be an attractive tourist spot for them, esp with our neighbouring countries being so much cheaper.Sad, isn't it?
Being the son of a Comfort cabbie.... I am feeling the pinch.Originally posted by Rhonda:![]()

honey does your hubster go lingeries shopping with you?Originally posted by honeymouse:Oh really?? What time? I will ask hubby tonight and see if he's interested. Will let you know. Are you having Sunday off?
Nope, working in the mornings. I remember last year, it was too sizzling hot to be out in the open. And since the fair is open till 9pm, I thought why not venture there at about 4pm or so? The weather should be better around that time!Originally posted by honeymouse:Oh really?? What time? I will ask hubby tonight and see if he's interested. Will let you know. Are you having Sunday off?

Just had a look at the website..... I think I might give it a miss. Going to be a nightmare finding a parking spot and can't be bothered to come into the city on the weekend.Originally posted by Rhonda:Nope, working in the mornings.
