awww......that's so sweet. thanks, really!
actually, i was working from home FOUR days in a week for a year already. but changes in the office and i was called in for a 5-day work week. i didn't think my telecommute was going to happen again but thank God, they manage to squeeze a 3-day work from home initiative for me! i am so thankful.
honestly, it's almost like working part time for a full time pay. 'cos really, my job is a reactive role kinda job. if there's activity in the market, there's work. if no activity, no work. no need to pretend kinda thing.
erm, like you, i am online bits and pieces too 'cos i kinda feel guilty to be on the net while i'm home. i should really be doing chores or cooking.
not forgetting online dramas too.
but yeah, we'll try to catch each other more often. is your plan to move west still on track?
Well, I'll just stay put here for the moment.
I have made plans for the rest of the year and so, I'll just see how things go.
Think it's been more than a year since we last 'spoke'? Unbelievable! ![]()
Alrdy got 1 person complain at ZB abt JB side
No more white card + no stamp... They insisted that it's not their fault... Frankly speaking, yes we gotta check... but it's a slap in the face tat the staff dun stamp anything

Guy became Superman for a moment there. Though, don't know if I should laugh or pity him. :/

then when i moved to canada, i found that people are not afraid to admit their ignorance/faults. i have since begin to use "i don't know" a lot.

one of the things I teach my kids at school is that its okay to say "i don't know" as long as you continue to learn...
it's only bad if u don't know.. and u don't care ma...

There is this fat feeder goldfish in my tank surviving because the Gulper can't be bothered to hunt and leaves it alone. It will only eat if I catch the goldfish and stuff it into it's mouth...which is rather cruel coz the goldfish is still alive.
Oh goody. Remember to take pictures!

Good and bad, as with everywhere else, I suppose!
I wish I had moved here much earlier, back when the cost of living isn't so high, and houses were much cheaper. Australia and NZ are now tops in most expensive houses in the Western world, with Australia in the lead.
The survey shows even the US is faring better!
I won't be able to afford my own place here if the crazy inflation persists. And if that happens, I might have to rely on Plan B, or Plan C. ![]()

No no. I meant after he quit, and he's like telling you about life outside WoW... It's like, he's never had a life before. D:
Oh, and remember you asked another WoW friend of yours to join us for one of those gluttony sessions? The one at Signboard Seafood one... He looks so damn familiar. :o

hmm.....i tink too, is relativity bah. well, even when my late sis-in-law and her family moved to melbourne in 1988, their house was like A$140k. but they needed a mortgage too 'cos the exchange with S$ was like 1.7 then. and one probably won't be bringing along too much cash given their age and the years of service in employment.
but yah, the rent is crazy. my nephew is paying like over A$2k a month for rent. hence, my sis bought an apt for him instead. i don't know how the numbers worked out but probably better off than the rent, i would tink.
don't worry, rhonda.......it will happen. i've got many nurse-friends here and they ALL owned homes. they do make good money. at least over the C$60k range which one can be pretty comfortable already! you just need to clock more years and savings and you will be on your way!
good nite bear

Hi, Rhonda.
Curious: what do Plans B and C entail?

Well, in the short space of less than 2 years, things have changed here, mainly because of the interest rate hikes and the influx of migrants to Melbourne.
A townhouse, which might have cost about A$270K when I first came, will now probably fetch A$360K or more!
Think there's been 4-5 interest rate hikes in less than 2 years? It's spiralling out of control with even the young Aussies feeling upset because owning a house is now a dream priced beyond their reach.
Nurses are paid well here. It is hard to pay for a house mortgage AND a car loan AND living costs when you're single though.
But then again, I tell myself, even if I met a partner, it might not be good news because they may turn out to be more of a liability!
So with that caution, I trudge on, working hard to make a decent living. ![]()
My American friends are chio-ing me to go over again. ![]()
