But speaking of inefficiency, I think the Aussies beat us hands down! I can go to the Team Leaders' Office to report some clinical thing in relation to a patient, and if they're yakking away with another colleague, I can keep saying, "Excuse me!" or "I think you really need to listen to this first!" etc, they won't stop until they're satisfied yakking. 
I think by then patient probably peng sanz liao!
The hospitals in Singapore are more efficient. Clinical standards are higher too. Too bad the working conditions and the way people treat nurses back home just suck royally!
yah my uncle is in SGH, he was complaining abt another patient who wanna be treated like a king... scream and yell at the nurses like slaves... until my uncle wanna go over and smack him! too bad he's bed-ridden... -

First time I met Club 30.... that would be at a Turkish restaurant at Suntec in 2006. I wasn't too shy.... I had already met Hisk, the pitot tube, the baba kid, and the evil banana previously.
The first sgforums outing I ever attended would be the 2004 BBQ, though. And I was really, really hesitant then.... I had never met anyone at all before. -

But it's good for them because the working conditions are really terrible!
Your uncle sounds like a sensible person. And yes, there are lots of patients and their relatives who come in and make lots of fuss and complain very loudly because they think they are emperors and emperess'! I've nursed VIP's before, including a Datuk from KL, and the Datuk is more humble than our "C" class ward patients!
I think nursing in the public hospitals here is a tad better. I vomit blood on a daily basis in my ward, but I keep quiet because I want to remain below the radar... low profile. Not the right time, not the right place to rise up like a Phoenix... yet... -
