Har?? You work on board a shipping vessel, right? So if you "missed your stop", where's the next stop then? Indonesia? ![]()
Rise and Shine!!
Don't know about you, but I'm no longer a Morning Lark person.
In fact, I fell in love with a guy because he once said, "Everytime I wake up in the morning, I wish I didn't have to wake up and I feel grouchy until mid-day."
Hehe... MY kinda guy! ![]()

Morning
Sighz... Kids complaining they got posted to the course or sch they didn't want
I'm very much a morning person...
or a night person
it's afternoons I can't stand. The only reason why afternoons exist should be for lunch and naps and sort of a buffer for digestion between breakfast and dinner.
one of my colleagues' mom ended up in hospital yesterday...
the pharmacist at the clinic gave her medication which she was allergic to.. and the medication was mislabelled..
she went into shock and almost died...
then the boss was talking to the clerk this morning about it.. i think stupidity in her family is genetic.. her brother "took painkillers as prescribed by the doctor"...
now.. what stupid think that painkillers are taken so often? 2 capsules every 2 hours??
so his "stomach is wrecked and he could not eat or sleep while on the painkillers"
well, DUH!!!
he carried on for a week and finally went to see a doctor who "told him to quarter the dosage"
i'm willing to bet a lot of money it was either stupidity or idiocy or both...
now the stupid boss is having dizzy spells.. she's ill as hell.. refuses to see a doctor.. insists on "taking chinese medicine" while coming into the office to spread her illness around..
fucking damned asswipe stupid moron braindead fuckchop..
as if her being in the office actually helps... the more she's in the office, the more she hinders work.. the more productivity goes down..
all she has to do is to list out what we have to do, a 10-minute job.. and leave us to it.. but no.. she has to tell us directly.. droning on for hours (i'm not kidding.. last month, she droned on a total of 14 hours.. i keep records so that we can cheat and call it "training hours")
while we're working, she keeps calling us on the phone, derailing an already unstable train of thought..
why can't she go home and stay home? ![]()
Fwah! Your boss sounds like someone who'll eventually end up in some Psych clinic undergoing treatment for Anxiety Attacks!
Her behaviour seems a tad ... obsessive.
Your poor colleague's mom! Glad she survived the Anaphylactic Shock! Hope her path to recovery will be smooth. The family should lodge a formal complaint against the Pharmacist.
BTW, it's funny how some people don't bother to at least know what medication they are taking. It's appalling to admit a patient and ask them, "So what medication are you on?" and they have absolutely no idea! It's alright if you don't really know the names of the meds, but at least know what they are for, which shockingly, some people don't even have an idea of!! They just say, "My GP told me to take the medication, so OK!"
I mean, if you aren't interested in taking charge of your own health matters, who will?! Can vomit blood!!

Good morning! Once again, What? Where? Why? When? How?
![]()
One of my students was prescribed specific medication for fits. After a few years of using it, luckily mom realised that the prescription may cause blindness if used over 3-4 years !! And when she told the doctor, the doctor didn't even know about that.
Scary.

Get very depressed and all.. my hubby on the other hand loves shiftwork, he can don't sleep whole night, next morning still chirpy chirpy and survive on minimal hours sleep. But good thing he doesn't need to do shift work liao cos.. its hard to keep a rship going when you hardly see the other party.

then, when it's night shift, i come into my own and almost run the whole team by myself when the rest of the team leaders are zonked out ![]()

Actually, Pharmacists should be given a more active role to play in the management of a patient's medication. Whilst it's ideal for doctors to know everything there is to know about treating health problems, it is unrealistic, given the huge expanse of knowledge they'd have to grasp. I believe that the way to prevent mistakes thus lies in close collaboration with other specialists, in this case, with Pharmacists.
I hope that in future, doctors will not be viewed as know-it-all's, because most of the time, they don't! Doctors who are humble enough to acknowledge that and seek the advice of other specialists do a lot of good for their patients. Those who insist that they know everything about everything end up doing much harm at times.
In my relatively short career, I have alerted doctors before to the : dodgy dosage of meds they have ordered / a double-prescription / prescription of meds that are contraindicated / potential drug interactions. It's common to make mistakes, esp working the sort of hours in the sort of stressful conditions doctors have to undergo. Therefore, to prevent mistakes, there has to be a closer collaboration amongst the different professionals working towards improving a patient's health.
here's something interesting my penpal sent in a reply yesterday night
"Do you know when is the best time to pump petrol? The answer is early morning because the ground temperature during that time is lowest. Even though the ambient temperature at night maybe low, the ground temperature is still warm as it absorbs heat all day long.
As most oil tanks in the station is kept under ground, petrol density will depends on the ground temperature. Higher temperature, lower density, that means lower mass.
Petrol is sold by volume, so if you pump petrol at higher
temperature, you will have same volume but lower mass of petrol.
Also, it's more volatile due to the surroundings too.
If petrol is sold by weight basis, we don't need to care about the temperature when we pump the petrol."

I didn't know I was allergic to ibuprofen and cephalaxin until two years ago.... I developed puffy eyes and a constricted throat just an hour after taking them.
I ran down to the polyclinic and got myself an antihistamine jab - pronto.
The doc thinks that ibuprofen was the culprit.... but since I had taken cephalaxin as well, it couldn't be ruled out.
