Kinda think most macho men are really scared of blood and bodybits.
Once, when I was describing the procedure to cut my cervics to another fren....
fren, big size, tanned, master diver of sorts, drive BMW and really rich kinda fella.
His face turned green and asked me nicely to 'Please stop!'.
it's just.. blood and guts..

time to harass my friend running this stand-by thing..
i want to go home soon..
I think those are the kind of guys who cannot witness their wife giving birth
I have heard of too many stories of guys going in with their wife into the room and after that they are so tramautised that they developed a phobia towards having sex

Anyway, I'm not going to school today..... no lessons today, and there's nothing much I can do at the lab anyway.
Gonna tell my younger sis about the NUS Career Fair later when she wakes up.... she had graduated from SIM since the middle of last year, and still hasn't found a job.
I'm thinking that she's being a little too picky - she rejected a $1800/month job offer on the basis that it paid 'too little'.
i figure being paid $1,800 is better than being paid $0
that's the reason i took temp jobs while looking for a permanent job..
besides, continue looking.. besides, can clock it up as experience while at it.. ![]()

That's my point exactly.... even if it ain't a lot, the experience counts for something. And it beats not earning anything at all.
Hell, I'm technically earning more money than she is.
I'm earning $350/month as a part-time tutor... that's barely enough to cover my expenses, but it sure feels good to be able to fend for myself.

Hmm... I think you're right. The paper qualifications are merely an entry-level criteria. If you have the requisite paper qualifications without the relevant experience, that puts you at a disadvantage. I guess when you're starting out, you do have to put up with a lot of less-than-ideal situations and conditions, but what else can we do except to grin and bear it? Clocking in experience is always valuable and it's good to think of the long-run - you may be paid measly now, but with the right experience, your next job may give you a huge increment!
I hope that she'll find a job soon. It's not good to stay unemployed for too long. Besides, tell her how it would sound like to the interviewers when they ask her questions like, "So what have you been doing after graduation?" and she has no 'good' answer for them. ![]()
