This morning, I read up on the Edison Chen scandal because even the online The Age Aussie newspaper site headlined it. Then I googled it and oh my word... the photos... they are so darn explicit, I think the actor and actresses cannot hide behind claims that it's not them.
Reminds me of that Tammie video where every inch had been exposed.
How are they going to face their relatives and pai nian the next year?
Worse, there are fallouts already. Gillian Cheung's fiance decided to rescind his proposal before she gave him her reply. And Nicholas Tse is not only divorcing Cecilia Chung, he is also demanding a paternity test for their son, and it's said that her second pregnancy is not from her husband!! ![]()
Scandals... cannot help reading them! ![]()
btw.. cult leader..
if you didn't want to look at the lewd couple, how come all the specifics? ![]()

True, true! I have learnt to adapt to it.
I no longer expect efficiency! Before I make those dreaded phone calls to service lines and etc, I brew tea or some beverage first, then sit down with a magazine or turn on the TV and / or computer first, and THEN make the phone call. Usually, I'll have to put it on speaker mode because I'll have to hold for quite a few minutes before the phone gets answered by a human, and even then, I might get transferred to yet another extension and start waiting all over again. But nevermind... I have my refreshments and entertainment, so my blood pressure remains normal. ![]()

It took me a few seconds to realise what they were doing, then I walked away, but then they sounded like they had gotten out of the car so I went to look again. I'm a self-appointed security guard of sorts here! ![]()
Think they only started to make noises towards the end of their mischief. Or rather, I just thought they were yet another loud-mouthed Aussie teenager or something so I didn't bother to go look.
Anyways, if I wanted to watch something racy, it's just too easy to get hold of something here. There are the magazines from 7-Eleven's across the road, adult movies on cable, or pirated porno movies from Victoria Street.
I don't have to resort to peeking at some yucky rednecks going at it.
Hmm... suddenly so quiet... did everyone go off to google "Edison Chen"? ![]()
Talk about being laid back
I have been told countless times that I speak too fast :(

By the Aussies?
That's funny, cause when you have a group of Aussie females together, omigosh, can they talk!
That's when they talk so fast that I sometimes can't catch all that they are saying! I think they talk fast in that context because being the social animals that they are, they wanna squeeze as much gossips as they can into that short space of time! ![]()
But yeah... there are Aussies, mostly the elderly ones, who taaaaalk soooooo slooooooow I start to daydream so that I can keep myself from nodding off to sleep. ![]()

By the Americans and Canadians
They always ask me to slow down
Not those from the big cities though
There's too much rhetoric and unnecessary yabber-yabber here.
Yesterday, I sat in a corner tending to my patient, and heard two Aussie nurses hand over report. At one point in time, they were sooo amusing! They like to say, "Yeah..." and they didn't know it, but the conversation kinda regressed into them saying yeah yeah yeah yeah at first one then the other, and then simultaneously before they could even finish their sentences towards the end!
It was like watching two turkeys going gobble! gobble! and nodding their heads at the same time! ![]()

I Loooooove the American accent!
I'm starting to loooooove the British accent too!
There's a cynical, old nurse who's very amusing in my ward. She walks around whingeing mostly to herself. I like her because she's not politically correct!
After being surrounded by all the fake niceties, it's refreshing to have someone brutally frank and yet funny in her own way. ![]()
I used to find the Irish accent hard to comprehend but now, being surrounded by so many Irish nurses, I grasp it all. ![]()
Haha. You should hear my conversation with this HK girl before in English (she was working in Canada)
My boss said both of us sounded like machine guns
LOL
strangely i've never met anyone who talks too fast or too slow. just accents which i have difficulty understanding at times.
i dont like asking people to repeat themselves more than twice. almost all the time. it's embarrassing not just for me. but probably for the other party too =p
my circle of friends here in the office basically swear a lot...
every sentence must be spiced by a couple of swear words...
and also hokkien..
the start and end of every sentence must be swear words ![]()

Just a few days ago, I had to ask this elderly patient to repeat herself because she was hallucinating from all the Morphine and Pethidine in her system, and she was just mumbling unintelligibly!
Nobody could understand her, including the Aussies.
In Singapore, if we have confused patients who might harm themselves, we administer chemical sedation and/or restrainers. Here, it's some violation of human rights so I sat there and repeated myself, "Please don't get out of bed!", "Please stop kicking the side rails!", "Please stop twisting and turning in bed!", etc etc etc like some broken record. By the end of the day, I needed chemical sedation myself!

Anyways, all this thing about human rights... she got more confused during the night, and she was so restless that she caused her surgical wound to bleed. ![]()
The famous/renowned "F" word is The Noun, Verb and Adjective in our entertainment industry, it's part of our daily language.
With a little bit of creativity used in conjunction with the F word, it adds colours and fun to our daily speech. ![]()
Try it ! ![]()
p.s. I own a book called "THE F WORD" , anyone like to borrow it?

Here, that word is nothing!
fymk will tell you how the conversations get peppered with the F word when a code is called in her previous ward. ![]()
When I returned home last year, I forgot myself and used the F word at home and my mom immediately had this horrified look on her face and she started some lecture about girls not supposed to use such rough words, when did I learn to speak so crudely, etc etc.
Thank goodness I live far far faaaaaar away from mom now! ![]()
all these rights and stuff are just bullshit. they've gone way overboard.
i once watched a show cos it was called 'the F word'. i thot it would be about the word fuck. but it wasnt. it was about some really boring thing. and it's so boring i dont even remember what it's about. =\

Ah well, it's gone too far here. I have encountered too many patients who are addicted to painkillers and opiods and opiates here. (ie. strong painkillers like Morphine, Oxycodone, etc). Basically, because they have 'rights', even when we KNOW they are faking the pain, as long as they tell you that they are in pain, we cannot deny them painkillers, because they have a right to be pain-free.
You can see a lot of people who basically need good old-fashioned discipline in their lives. A lot of anxiety disorders and panic attacks that are just probably manifestations of over-indulgence and attention-seeking disorders. ![]()
Back in Singapore, we had Chinese families who acted like they were in some Ch 8 drama with their exaggerated behaviour. Here, we have the dysfunctional Aussies who act like they are in some Greek Tragedy.
Once, this old Greek woman SCREAMED and YELLED so melodramatically, it sent the entire ward of nurses running to see what was happening only to realise that her sleeping husband started to breathe a little slower, and she thought he was dying, and so she screamed.
The Greeks own the word "melodramatic" here! ![]()
At least you will never be bored :P
greeks in general are quite melodramatic-ish. very...passionate. emotional. everything is exxagerrated.
but that's stereotyping. maybe it's got something to do with....their
culture or something. but the people i know from there are all like
that =p with the exception of my cousin's father-in-law. a really quite
man. haha.
and what you see in australia with the aussies. it's pretty much the same in north america.
hehe. and yeah. what elindra said. lol. though i think it's way more interesting to people you tell the story to than it is to yourself =p

That's so true!
You end up with lots of really funny and amusing anecdotes to share with your friends, and on hindsight, you can laugh at the situation, but when it's actually unravelling, and the drama kings and queens are trying to sucker you into their drama set, it ain't funny!

After a while, you learn to distinguish the bona fide cases from the fakers.
Wah liao ST reporters accuracy in reporting really sux
I was reading the soybean report they have in the papers today.
They got my customer's name wrong and turned me into a guy ![]()
Not to mention that I gave them at least 5 pts on why prices are going up, they quoted the least important one *face palms*
