yeah. for the travelling, i leave my CPF money with Temasek.
TAMADE!!!!!
but my relatives all came back to SG to get their CPF money, lol!
i think they figured that they'll hang out in hawaii / bahamas.
Originally posted by kopiosatu:the last time i went for physiotherapy, the hospital told me to get ankle support like the wrap around ones, instead of the ones you just slide into.
what i'm afraid is that my ankle gets reliant on the support and from then on i'll have to use the support to play football!
I think the support is to ensure that you don't inadvertently twist the ankle again easily. I mean, you can still twist it again if you're not careful, but the support kinda splints it.
I don't think your ankle will get reliant on it, not if you do the exercises the physio would have instructed you to do on a daily basis.
btw.. there was a time when the gabrament of Belize was selling their passport..
i mean.. really.. selling their passport.. anyone who wants one, can just buy it..
their pitch to americans was: if you feel threatened that you are american, you can use the Belize passport ![]()

hmmmm then i better go purchase the wrap around support, somehow it feels tighter than the normal ones
I did talk to one or two older Aussie colleagues about our CPF scheme and about whether it is wise to get all the money out. Both of them said that now, when we're younger, we don't think much about the future, but when we reach the age of 50+, we'd be glad that we have a nest egg that's safe and secure.
I think unless there's a foolproof and totally secure method of saving and growing that money, I'll keep it in there for now...

i don't see a reason to live here anymore, since most of my relatives are in australia / USA.
my mother was telling me, next year we're gonna celebrate chinese new year in Australia.
but she also told me that the red passport is valuable. grrrrr...
Next year, CNY falls on 26 Jan... which is Australia Day!
Hmm it'll be very interesting seeing the celebrations in town
I wonder if many restaurants will be open on that day!

It should! Because you can constrict it as you wrap it. The slip-on's are made to fit specific sizes and not the individual, so therefore, it won't be that good an option.
Did you sprain it playing football, btw? Sorry, I don't get to follow all posts.

Sad thing is... it's getting into a time where it's just the minimum

Yes, you can, as long as it's commercial, has no dairy products/meat/fruit. Gotta have the ingredients listed for them to see. A friend tried bringing 3 bottles of homemade chilli sauce last year, but they all got thrown into the bin
We were all so heartbroken, cos her chilli is soooo good!
I was ecstatic that they even allowed in my fave 3-in-1 coffee mix! (only coffee mixes from Singapore allowed; none from Indonesia, China or Malaysia. Apparently it's got something to do with the hand-foot-mouth disease
)

Me too... I've thought about this in the last couple of months, but for the short-term future (i.e. now-5 yrs) I think I'll keep it all in CPF lah...

Have you tried using a wobble board to strengthen the muscles around your ankle? I've got very weak ankles too... and my chiro gave me a wobble board to practice on. After a couple of months of using it, I'm pleasantly surprised to say that my ankles are much stronger now! They also seem to 'right' themselves if I happen to turn my ankle in an awkward position. ![]()
ok, off to the gym

Orh! CHEY!! If I'm in my 50's and still in Australia, I'll take it all out too! I mean, what is there to lose, seriously?! ![]()

I think a variant of the wobble board was used to help 'cure' children with ADHD and it seemed to have helped them concentrate on their schoolwork better! It was showcased in an episode of Today Tonight... or was it A Current Affair?
SL, good to have you back with us in Club 30! ![]()
Oh, as an aside, the thread exposing the luxury goods market just got really ... amusing!
I just had someone insult me for having a different opinion, and then when she said I'm getting defensive, I showed her what her insult really meant, and then instead of saying sorry, she's acting all miffed up at me! ![]()
Seriously, I shudder to think of the direction Singapore is heading towards if it's populated by so many illogical, immature youths.
We need more Fatums, elindra's, fudgies, sitella's and KB's if we are to have a fighting chance to ensure survival! ![]()

what the hell is wrong with my boss??
trying my damnest to put up a bloody an invitation-to-quote.. with no idea what to do..
and she keeps calling me about stupid and idiotic things which are totally beyond my control.. like whose stupid staff suggestion it is, and why she cannot do anything about it when she's been slated as "decision maker" and all that..
and then each time she badgers me about something stupid, she can end the phonecall with: you have a lot of things to do today.. i'll get back to you after we've finished it
like she did any other thing than to accept these stupid things which our section should not even be doing!!
okay.. while in the middle of writing this, she called me.. if i have received a disc someone sent.. thing is, the guy sent the disc on friday at 8pm.. like it will be on my desk now???
what the hell is wrong with my boss??

I think eventually, your boss will crack and will have to be dragged to IMH for some Anxiety Disorder or Panic Disorder!
She seems to be obsessive!

You're not an authority on this issue to declare that with one fell swoop.
There IS such a disorder, BUT sadly, it has been abused in much the same way headaches are now called 'migraines' or common colds are now called 'sinusitis'. Too many children have been misdiagnosed and put on drugs they should never have been placed on. ADHD is not a common diagnosis, but it has become such due to the malpractice of too many doctors, trying desperately to slap a label on children who are just naturally active and inattentive.

the guy who came up with that has admitted that he made everything up.. but the drug companies and the others are refusing to let it go because they've made a great living out of drugging the hell out of children..
it's all about moolah..
as for treating them, there are things called "discipline" and a lot of other things like finding out how to teach the children to focus.. the wobble-board thing is one of them.. it forces them to focus else they fall down.. now where is the need for endless streams of costly therapy and even more expensive drugs in them?
so the "doctors" will fight tooth and nail before they let go of that cash cow..
it is a hoax.. and bleeding hearts will go to war before they have something they feel they are inflicted with taken away from them lest they lose a bit of sympathy from the rest of the other bleeding hearts..
