but your house must also be HUGE to have these type of tables :(

or.. buy a restaurant.. it could turn out cheaper

for a good kitchen, i find ALL the burners these days very wimpy...
for good cooking, you NEED a proper burner...
something like this:
a burner like this, you can even cook good oyster omelette

it'll be open to the backyard ..... with floor length glass windows .... plenty of sunlight ..... the washing basin would face out ... so washing up wouldn't be a chore ......
I prefer modern mimimalist .... lots of matte steel ... lots of black .....
with an island of dark marble ....
a monster fridge, a wine cooler fridge, and most importantly of all, a BIG BIG oven .....
and a huge BBQ sitting out the back ....
then I can feed dearling till she's pek pek bwee bwee ....

got converted into a makeshift kitchen.. complete with cabinets, sink and a mobile double burner stove on wheels

Err... I very not utilitarian one... I love country style kitchens
with lots of natural wood, tiling on the walls.. painted plates... bla bla bla
ceiling beams...
My favourite item I have in my current kitchen is this...
heavy recycle pine wood table with slate tiles on top from Spanish Madrid furniture.. but they no more liao :(

shro-cat.. wood in kitchen is not a good idea actually...
water vapour, oils and other things get into them, the wood will rot.. very very quickly...
looks nice but.. be prepared to change everything every couple of years

the ones I have got were treated woods... the recycle pine all been exposed to elements already so very weathered to begin with liao :D and usually wood exposed to elements and dried up last better -

looks like a cross between zora's second picture(table. the marble piece is on a cupboard thing similar to the one in the picture) and ferret's second picture(that marble piece with the chairs) and schrocat's first picture(layout. it's so bloody damn similar!)! LOL!

hostel my arse lah! HAHAHAHAHHAA. i live with my mom now. used to be a crummy apartment. but then there was a huge leak and the owner didnt wanna fix it. so we complained and the authorities came and the owner got fucked. so he kicked us out. thankfully my mom's friend has a 'spare' house. that's why i have such a bloody nice kitchen now. hehehe =p =\

something about a slice of pizza in aluminium foil...
the oven was a charred and melted mess when i saw it
