which aquarium u talking bout? there's like at least 2 i can think off.
here's another east-sider supporting the I love the East banner!
I liked the place I grew up which is Thomson Lakeview, but they tore it down and now its flat land.
I liked the the place I grew big, which is Jalan kayu (I grew big on the better and bigga pratas which have currently worsened and shrunk over time) .. but they built an expressway across my playground (abandoned kampong behind my house currently the TPE)
But now I am happily settled in the eastbedok.. great food, great AIR, great transportation.. great... people generally besides the one or two perverts you would get anyone else in Singapore and its a bad fluke.

Hanor! Hanor!!
I grew up and lived in the Holland V - Commonwealth area. I did move to the East to work and live for a few years and hated it. I moved North too and hated it. Central for me! ![]()
for me i think its just the easy access to the beach.... that I can see the sea... err in inches between the expensive condos... and just the sea breeze when it gets really cool and windy :)
mebbe being a very 'homebody' who don't really go out so much.. that's really as important as convenience too..
Central too busy for me
I like the East coz seriously u get shopping, the beach, the airport if you wanna run fast, lots of great food
What else can you ask for :P
BTW does anyone know if the Statistics library open today
I grew up in Tampines.....when it was ulu.
Then in Woodlands, when it was also ulu.
Now Houganger.
I still miss living in Woodlands in those days when it was literally wood-lands all around me.![]()

Oh I was living at East Coast Road which is really kinda like the Holland V of the East except that it's a 20 mins walk to the beach

I hated Woodlands
My parents love it though coz they take the bus to JB last time every weekend :x
Woodlands is too crowded for my liking now.....I prefer to live in ulu places.

I think if I got $$ and can afford landed property
My target areas are East Coast Road that stretch again or Serangoon Gardens :P
Sigh......it sux to live next to a school and hearing all the out-of-tune music coming from their CMI band on a weekend.
hahahah i used to live next to a school and have to wake up at 7.30 cos they play majulah singapura every morning. it was the old old primary school at Jalan Kayu.. quite fun. When they moved out, friends and I played basketball at their court all the time. Until it was torn down. :(
