Tamade!! Mom was just telling me two weeks ago about a brand of bak kwa that's nice and tender and much much better than Mei Zhen Xiang. Sometimes, I wonder what kinda love mom has for me - when I told her about the huntsman spider, she said, "Eeeee!! What if it has laid eggs in your bedroom?!!" causing me to henceforth check my bedroom every night before I get into bed and then panicking each time I feel something on my leg or arm.
And then, when I talk about missing Singapore titbits and snacks, she had to describe the nice bak kwa and shout to dad in the background, "Got a lotta bak kwa to eat ah!" -
Orh... how come you two know so much? Impressive...
I'm actually quite surprised that they are going ahead with the Olympics. I was hoping the world will join in unity to show displeasure by boycotting the entire event altogether.

sounds like those clubs who serve FREE GREEN TEA AS MIXTURE when their customers ordered the hard liquors.The customers will like the sweetness and wun know when is their limits cos it kicks in real slow.. Only when they gotten a spilting headache next morning.. they only knew that they have over-drunk by bottles of the liquors..
why i know leh...cos the club pple told me one..
one of the "push-sales" tactics..!
would they bother if the customers kana over-intoxicated.. nope..
cos they know they will come back again...cos never knew about it.. They think the clubs treat them so well, to give them endless free green tea mixtures.

Their bottom line is profit.
The customers are quite silly if they are not sharp enough to suspect something. Seriously, if they don't give a damn about their own health, why should anyone else? All are adults, all should learn about drinking limits.
Most of the nurses and doctors I know do not have any sympathy for people who get Liver diseases because they binge-drink; drug addicts who end up with all manner of chronic sickness; smokers who get lung cancer; etc because it's not as if they didn't know the consequences of their actions. We feel they are a drain on the community's resources and worse, their healthcare is often subsidised by taxpayers. I'd much rather pay taxes to provide better care for the retired elderly and the young rather than to waste it on alcoholics, drug addicts, and lazy bums.
