This is a fantastic piece of article! I've always thought that the Minister should step down in disgrace as a form of public apology. They are honourable enough to do such things over in Taiwan, the US, and even China! In many instances, CEO's of companies have stepped down even when they are not directly responsible for the errors, but just because something happened on their watch, and they have the moral gumption to feel ashamed and responsible enough to step down as an acknowledgement that they have failed to fulfill their roles.
Needless to say, nobody will expect Ministers who protect their own kind. This issue has probably left a sour aftertaste in many citizens' mouths.

One of the panel members asked: 'According to your NS records, you were a medic. However, just now you said that you wanted to major in mechanical engineering. My question to you is: if you want to study engineering, why did you choose to be a medic?'
I was at a total loss for words at the idiocy of that panel member........

I somehow camne up with a reply: 'We didn't have a choice as to which vocation we would get. So I decided to make the best of my situation, and my commanders eventually decided to promote me to the level of specialist.'
After I said that, I happily thought to myself, 'w00ts! I turned a stupid question to my own advantage!'
Just then, that moron said: 'Now I'm totally confused. Your records say that you were a medic, and now you're saying that you became a commando?!?!'
Me: 'Uhh.... sorry, but I don't recall ever saying that I became a commando.....'

The other candidates were all dressed inappropriately - they were wearing tucked-out T-shirts, berms, sandals, baseball caps..... I kid you not.
I was the only bugger wearing formal office wear (long-sleeved shirt, tie, black pants, black shoes) for the interview.
However, I didn't get the scholarship..... it really bugs me that they gave it instead to some sloppily-dressed Mat or Minah who can't even dress appropriately for an interview.

So think about it.... they grant scholarships to clowns who can't dress properly for interviews.... you think they're gonna correct that fella?
