wat abt the existing male aedes mossies?!
even if the GM mossies won't "reproduce" they will cause a nuisance and god-know-wat-other-probable diseases...

They assume they will die out I guess
Since no larvae = no more male/female aedes mossies
Dunno will have any nuisance or some other problems surface la

Wahhh..haaa.haaa......haaa.
no no....because it has to be signed by the ladybozz. so the letter actually need to indicate tare's name and number.
i think it's easy for fish to do this.. i remember for a species of fish, if the male is eaten or killed or dies, the dominant female of his harem becomes a male fish and takes over..
but this species does away with the male part of the species entirely..

Maybe the fishes didnt realise that they are the last and morphed into the males to continue their species?
Anyway, with cloning.....its not that difficult to bring back the extinct fishes. But do we still have the right environment to sustain them?

USD is not for investment la
It's for purely selfish reasons :P

I don't think they cloned the fishes to have a bank yet for the necessary genes and such.
I mean look at the Freshwater Rays from South America
It's virtually extinct in the wild but doing really well in captivity because people are trying to breed them like rabbits

Don and I were saying if it drops to 1.2, we are going over immediately to USA to shop :X

Agree.
I am thinking of a fresh pair of crocs. A couple of Mesh riding jackets, some more Nikes & another trip to San Fran.
if it does, I will buy some US etf... Doing researches on this part of "safer" investments...
Long term trend is always upwards. Plus if move in at the time where USD is much weaker than SGD and eocnomy is recovering on the upward path (possibly near year end), then possible to earn at least 15% on average after 4~5 yrs I believe.
I think it's wishful thinking
I mean for companies where they give pretty good rates, today the ex-rate is at 1.36
Even if it drops to 1.3 I think it's really damn good rate

Me watch too much Jurrasic Park Movie & read too many sci fic books liao.
But I still believe its possible. Just not sustainable once the resources runs out or the environment is no longer suitable.

actually long term trend is on average 12.08% for US indexes and 10% for straits times index...
but economy moves in cycles, and if u catch it on the downtrend... u could beat the average.
