  Speaking of which.....yesterday the LST RSS Resolution returned from Tuas back to home at Changi. Possibly to load stores and sail for Myanmar.

  In other news, things are getting a bit heated at my side. MCVs and PVs, all of which are based at Tuas, are now making unusually frequent stop-overs at Changi. The reason is quite obvious by now. S'pore is beefing up the patrolling forces at the E S'pore Straits in view of 23rd May.

  thing is.. what the hell is going on in Burma?

  the fear is that the anger over this may incite the people to attempt to throw the military bastards out... and the bastards who don't give a shit about anything will react with machineguns and bayonets...

  My guess is that the regime intends the referendum to carry on because there is a chance that folks might not turn up to vote at all.

  Or. The regime is using this way to exact revenge on the population because holding a referendum now, date unchanged, is a way of spoiling pro-democracy efforts.
