I remember having to spend a lot of effort persuading my parents that they won't get a free SE phone by forwarding some unsolicited email to five of their friends.
And when I showing my dad some other website, it took quite a bit of persuasion again to convince him that he shouldn't click on the icon that screams 'You are the 999,999th visitor! Congratulations!!!!'
I'm wondering abt GSS... would ppl spend tis year?
haiz.. we do what we have to do.. at least with OSX, it'll be protected against almost all the virus and trojans out there...

Getting ready for the long Memorial Day weekend here. I'm taking tomorrow (Friday) off to make it a four-day weekend.
With gas prices currently pushing $4/gal., I shan't be doing much driving over the weekend, but I hope to at least make it out to the range to try out a couple of new guns.
Weather's been pretty good so far--definitely not as hot as SG, but that might change later in summer!

Well, Bush just returned from an ass-kissing trip to Saudi Arabia to beg the towelheads for more oil, so I don't think an invasion of that region is imminent.
What gets me is that there is currently enough oil under Alaska and the Dakotas to more than meet this country's energy needs for the foreseeable future, but the environmental lobby in DC putting up all kinds of legal roadblocks preventing their exploitation.

Hmm.... did the environmentalists drive up to DC, or did they take the plane?

well ... that's called playing it smart ... suck up all the oil from the middle east first .... use up their oil reserves ... while saving up the stock pile at home ... that's what i'd do ....

Yeah, and when that happens, we can sell the oil back to the Arabs... at $500/bbl.
Wouldn't that be sweet...
I just wonder what efforts have been put into to find a permanent substitute for vehicle fuel.
Projections show that fossil fuels will possibly run out in our lifetime, and yet we have no viable alternative yet in sight.
my mum is the opposite
she comes in almost everyday with some newspaper articles about some viruses, scams or whatever
-_-!!!!

we will, eventually .... we are very resilent as a species ..... that's why homo sapiens are like a plague on earth ....
the only real question is how much turmoil it'll take before we get there ....

Hmmm.....
I'm thinking of hydrogen.... but then I don't see any viable way of liquifying it without incurring high costs.
Biofuels might be an idea.... but its implementation so far has been disastrous. Increased deforestation and rising food prices have been linked to it.

the way I see it, we haven't really confronted the really big issues yet ....
think of planes, air travel, moving huge ocean going container ships ....
powering little automobiles is the peanuts problem ...
This video cracked me up. ![]()

Nah....
Somehow they'll just twist it into a total win..... maybe their press will say 'We won the Northern Rocks!!!!' without saying that they lost Pedra Branca.
This has happened before.... several years ago when we were given the right to reclaim Tekong and Tuas with the condition that we meet environmental standards, they focused all their attention on the 'environmental victory' and totally left out the reclamation part....
Anyway, I get the sense that the ICJ was trying to say, 'Here, I give each of you one piece, so now stop bickering, okay?'
