so first things first, pretty website?
that, bro ... is where I come in ... that's the essence of SEO ...
it used to be easy, but now the algorithms for engines like google are classified ...
we can take a look at that later ....
what about turning your site into an ecommerce thingy ? ... for people to buy stock pics, and for people to book your services, online ? ...

how much is the hosting? so far I see bluehost's offer not bad...

depends on what plan you're looking at ... whether it's windows or unix hosting ....
I'm still in the midst of getting my own server at the data center though ...
but really, you get what you pay for ... for all my previous clients, I encourage them to stick to pricier big names, like ipmirror .... the tech support is a lot better ... if you're paying sub$10 a month, chances are, you're enjoying zero live support ....
with ipmirror i can scream at someone at all hours ... and that's very very important ....

no experience in this area though :(
Is just that got 1 fren told me he tried bluehost before, and not bad... Then I saw that got 15000GB bandwidth and quite a few GB of storage...
Cheap only if pay for 2 years upfront, but anytime can cancel and get back remaining money.

so i'll leave the website design to someone else while u handle the backbone?

if they are even placing a limit on your bandwidth, you can forget it ... always go for unlimited ...
if you're running any sort of really active e-commerce set ups, you'd be shocked at how much bandwidth gets taken up ....

1 e-commerce set up and a few websites purely to make use of Google Adsense or own ads...
btw, would like to seek a 2nd opinion, what are your views about Adsense?
*me gets a headache from all this IT jargon*
There's a reason why I only managed to scrape a B- for my C Programming module.

if you're thinking of pulling in money solely from adsense, you can forget it ....
infact ... if you're selling anything at all ... don't ever put that into your site ... if your business plan involves making money from ads, there are adspace auctions out there ....
google pay peanuts, and their ads look like shit ... and as for local coms like that nuffnang thingy, you spend more time advertising their service than with paying advertisers ...

hmm... how about purely educational websites?
cuz I do see quite a number of sites earning only on adsense. They then progress from there to selling their own ads. One example is ourmall.sg
the pup just licked at a pile of fresh bird poo .... *ack ! ... ![]()

I have a pair of friends in the UK running a "useless" site (read: non-ecommerce) ... their only source of income, incidently, comes from other similar sites (paying ones) ... who places ads on their site ....
put it this way ... ask around ... who has ever clicked on one of those google adsense ads before ... I know i don't ...
and it's approximately 50 cents to a dollar a click for the advertiser, so you're really not earning much at all ...
