  maybe you need to get one of those el-cheapo under-$70 no-contract basic indestructable phones...

  and maybe one covered in rubber..

  i got one for the folks and dad's very happy with it coz it's small, noisy, non-slip, has a little torchlight and almost indestructable..

  the phone nowadays all come with so many of the same advanced features, I think it's a waste of money to go for anything other than a $0 phone ...

  Been considering that as well. Like one of those el cheapo phones that 7-11 sells for under $100.

  I hardly ever use the bells and whistles on my current phone anyway (Samsung J750). I just need basic calling and messaging capabilities.

  I initially used its 3G video call capability..... until I realized that it inflated my bills.

  Oh well.... right now I'm using my backup phone (a Nokia model from 2003). I need to use my backup phone for reservist next week anyway.

  i thought video calls are free. anyway lovebirds would find this a bonus. I find them useful too. my kids cannot tell me they are in school when they are in the arcade

  So did I.... till my bills said that I would be charged extra for it.

  Then again, I'm using an M1 student plan, so maybe that's the reason why.
