I believe some schools do PE military style.I know at least AJC does that.

i know of parents who tightly control what their kids can do
they MUST play violin or piano, got for some weird course
no sports...and at the same time they let their child rot away playing MMORPG

well, I hate to say this, but from my observations, JC kids are actually fitter than poly kids on the average, lots of those VJC and HCJC types come into NS absolutely ripped ....
lots of national youth atheletes as well .....
in contrast, poly chaps make up most of the obese batch people, this comes from a friend of mine, a fellow poy graduate, who was a PC at tekong ....

Which reminds me.....is it really true that JC folks who go to NS tend to make more noise than poly guys?From my observation, JC folks mostly heck-care and just do it, poly folks tend to whine, and for some reason, the hokkien beng tend to make the bulk of chao-kengers.
I hear a lot of stories about JC folks making lots of noise, but this was not my observation.

curiously, people from the "elite" JCs are more uncomplaining that the wannabes ..... and the kantangs complained less than than bengs ...
I suspect the really smart ones know it's counter productive to make too much noise ... but when they do bring up things, they knew very well what they were doing ... there were two cases brought up by this RJC chap during my time, both times, he was standing up for another fellow ... i was very impressed by this chap, the way he carried himself ... he later became an officer, but I don't hold his 5As against him ...
but that was just life in mono-intake .....
after I got around to different units and camps I met some super pricks .... most were poly kids, and a few dumb JC farks who just don't know when to shut up ...
