Just spent about $50 just now buying electrical components at Sim Lim Tower.
I have to put together a mechanism that can mix 15 liters of water at one go. I need a motor that with high torque and low RPM.... that itself cost $22.
Oh well.... at least my prof said that I can claim all expenses later on.

Thought of a drill too..... high torque, low RPM is precisely what I need to stir several liters of water without splashing.
But then again, I need to create some holding mechanism for the uber huge and unwieldy device. And the techies did say that I can put together a relatively compact, solid device from scratch.
Besides, I haven't played with my soldering iron in a long time.

That shop that Bear mentioned has lots of fantastic toys for sale! They have mini replica of food from Japan that I really desired at one stage.
I do want to purchase a remote-controlled helicopter because there are lots of parks and vast spaces here that I can fly it in over here.
Maybe someday, when I'm good at it, can even fly it over the Yarra River in Southbank!

Just now my cousin messaged me to ask whether she could come over to discuss whether a certain water filter she was selling was scientifically sound. She wanted my opinion on the soundness of her product because she didn't want to 'unknowingly sell something that will rip off others'.
Instead, she came down with a few of her colleagues and tried to hard-sell my family some really dubious MLM products and an MLM plan for 1 1/2 hours.
They totally evaded my questions on the soundness of some of their products.... for example, when I claimed that their water filter's function of removing chlorine from tap water would lead to bacterial growth, they had no answer to that.
Frankly, I'm kinda pissed at my cousin. I thought that she sincerely wanted my unbiased inputs on her products, and she uses this kind of tactic to sell her products.

A cousin of mine did the same to us. He said he wanted to visit us...and 2 companions showed up unannounced to sell magnetic mattresses.
MLMs claim that friends and family are an advantage. It's bullshit - deceiving your kin who will tell you the hard truth only sours relationships.

The way I see it, it's as good as dumping a lot of crap on trust between family members.
I honestly thought that my cousin wanted my unbiased opinions one product, and she tries to hard sell lots of products to my family instead. She even brought along two colleagues totally unannounced.
At the very least, that's improper conduct.
Oh well..... at least my parents didn't fall for any of it.
