They've scrapped the Boon Lay extention?
When I saw the plans for the Circle Line, I told myself that they must be kidding. Shorter trains? And if they scrap 52 and 165 which go to my place, they're seriously under-estimating the situation.

Nah... tat Jurong Regional Line... From Jurong East to NTU... Actually back then I forsee it'll never occur, cos it's not going to be able to serve everyone like students at NTU is going to flood e train, other ppl at e New Town area might end up being unable to board if it's a 3 carriage train
Sv 165 might go cos of CCL.. but I ever said abt tis matter bef, give ppl a choice

I wonder if you've seen the queues for 179 on weekday mornings in semester time. They're frightening. And very often in the evenings the buses are full after serving just the northern loop of the campus - those who want to board at the southern end have to wait a while.

I know... But thing is you've tat mini MRT, it's going to end up like NTU Express
Wat I see now is one way to enhance bus boarding pt location... Jurong East can be taken, aft which e bus would serve some stops in Jurong East bef proceeding straight to NTU

Its never been about passenger comfort and well being. It's about being "efficient" and making record profits!!!!
Cranky Andy foams at the mouth yet again.
Subsidising fuel and electricity for the general population is never a good idea, because it promotes wastage. All he thinks about is "despot, despot, despot".
Then again the poor here shouldn't have to run to their MPs all the time to stop SP from cutting off their power supply. After all how much can they use with just a few appliances? To help them and promote conservation I would suggest giving discounts and waivers for households that manage a low or ultra-low per pax energy usage, but I guess it'll never happen here.
as for southern end, is to add downroutes

Well, here, it's not about passenger comfort nor well-being. On top of it, it's also not about being efficient either. ![]()

our public transport operators' idea of efficient is to cram as many passengers into each train/bus as is humanly possible![]()

It's happening here on the trams and trains during peak hour too. Worse, the train frequency can be quite horrible.

they only want to listen wat they want to hear. LOL
anyway subsidy, sometimes I feel those money could go onto infrastructure... I think wat M'sia is facing is now because of all over e yrs subsidising e ppl, which makes ppl dependent on it to keep cost of living low, but it's away from reality should it be removed totally one day

I see that point, imagine that said 179 queue in the small trains. As it is, I think Boon Lay isn't a bad choice. Having an express service from JE like 179A would slash travelling times for a lot of people by quite a margin, but can the interchange cope with the traffic? There's one private transport company (Tong Tar) that does that in the mornings and evenings for about $2.

Energy prices will only go up unless we move away from fossil fuels, and the subsidies would have to be increased non-stop. It's untenable.
