Actually though there are things I take pride of being in S'pore
Our ports operation and food
That is why our ministers are doing their best to keep the pay here artificially low
But that is not the solution also
You know, the taxes that I pay now, my annual income used to be less than that back in SG. And mind you, the bulk of my income went into rent! The irony of it all. ![]()

I know of way more Singaporeans who are struggling. There are too many families with less than your combined income, and they have four mouths to feed... or more.
That's because we plan >.<"
It's not something that drops down on our laps
actually for those who can, it depends on e lifestyle you want at times also

Yeah... it's not realistic to keep income low, and have everyone face a lower and lower disposable income in the face of rising costs of living, and then expect Singaporeans to be happy about it. That is just ridiculous.
Afterall, the Ministers themselves aren't in it with the Singaporeans. They are in fact living cushy lives eating gigantic peanuts and watching the rest of the country slave for sesame seeds.

I mean, the gross income of an average nurse is equivalent to a manager's pay in Singapore! And there are so many of us! No wonder healthcare is bloody expensive!
That's why my friends and I think that should there be a recession and a drought, Australia will be hard-pressed to survive because the costs of doing business are simply way astronomical! They have absolutely no competitive advantage at all!
I think something is wrong when a plumber or a carpenter earns more than the average university graduate .....
not trying to sound elitist, but what kind of message would that be sending to the youths of that society ? .... why study hard ? ... when you'll earn less ? ...

Errr if we are earning sesame seeds, logically our pay should be higher compared to our Ministers coz in a realistic world, sesame seeds cost more than peanuts :P

thing is, it's getting rare to get ppl like carpenter locally alrdy... ppl just shun these jobs
ends up they become more 'valued'

Oh that is part of the plan too
Like what insurance to buy etc :P
And I think MPB have a cub fund
I did tell him if he wants one, that is his responsibility
And he did tell me he is putting aside this yr's bonus for 'rainy days'

The blue collars here might earn more than startup white collars simply because of penalty rates.
If you sacrifice weekends and public holidays, you earn twice your usual hourly rate.
And if you work the night shift, you get a lot more.
Now, if you work the night shift on weekends and public holidays, WHOA! ![]()
There is a loophole though... I get paid for public holidays regardless of whether I work or not. So if I take a rest day on a public holiday, and work as an agency nurse elsewhere, I end up with at least three times my hourly rate for that day! ![]()
All said, blue collars have to put in weird hours to get more than white collars.
tat F1 thingy
finally e hotel rates are going down
I think being first time doing it, some things are done partially like tat Flyer ticket issue

It is.
I've always told my friends that Singapore would be a lovely place to live in if income and cost weren't a concern.
However, it is a concern for the vast majority and I don't think I'm coming into a hefty inheritance anytime in my lifetime so ah well... ![]()
Buh bye, Pinky!
Sigh... I have to quickly step outta the house before I get discouraged by having to walk about 45-60 mins just to get my ramen.
No wonder my lifestyle is so healthy here - I gotta walk for my food! ![]()
Whee! It's a Saturday!
Most importantly, I'm still off work! ![]()
