  years back when I ran a forum (now hand over to friends to run liao) it was our way or the highway. we made the rules, people didn't like it they were shown the door. straightforward. there was even a disclaimer stating that the forum was privately owned and hence there was to be no democracy.  so I don't see whats the problem over here.

  so av, if one day u posted something, people changed your text (that represent you) with childish and unsightly text, u still welcome with open arms cos it oki for av u to look like an idiot?

  av, i handled forums before too. and there was that rule you stated.

  however it does not allow for moderators to modify forumers post and replace it with anything vulgar or rude.

  such moderators are treated as vulgar forumers and ousted out too, either by the owner or the law.

  anyway, rules that are right and it's social responsbility when running a forum.  if it is manipulative with their forumer texts (much to their own amusement), we question the level of maturity and if she/he is deemed fit as a moderator.

  notwithstanding the above, we encountered unpleasant experiences here.... now we are not the one who is interested in the matter liao..pass it on....

  if the content was deemed inappropriate, or if there are circumstances that justify that response etc

   

  My friends and me did do that to some persistent troublemakers in our forum btw. When that didn't work one time we finally got the police involved and the bugger disappeared on his own

  I still meet forumers from the old place.

   

  Some have even wanted to 'teach me a lesson' for terminating them.  And some of told me their misgivings and given me a chance to apologize. 

  I've apologized and I've also apologized for some fellow moderators and their rudeness.

  So lets just say Lotus has a mind to seek legal means as to what is wrong or right on this little pissoff.

  Her role as a forumer against the role of a moderator who posted in the form of the forumer.  Its mis represetation and its su-able.  Whats wrong wtih that?

  it'll hold. this forumer is not registered in USA so there is no way to clai obscene amount of damages.

  But UK  & sg law is similar.  it will hold.
