the batsman kena out after 17 overs and 4 balls...
out can be a few ways...
caught out - ball hits him or the bat and the ball is caught before the ball touches the floor..
bowled out - the bowler smashes the wickets in his bowl..
run out - while running, he hasn't reached the line yet and someone smashes the wickets..
lbw - leg before wicket.. the ball hits his leg pads while in line with the wickets.. the umpire has to give the out.. usually the fielding team appeals by shouting "howzat??!!"

as long as the ball touches the bat or pad and is caught by anyone fielding, he's out...

i think AFL is easier to remember..
cannot push anyone in the back with your hands.. but you can knee him in the head to catch the ball..
put through the middle 2 sticks with a kick = 6 points
hit the middle 2 sticks = 1 point
between the middle and outside sticks = 1 point
hit outside stick = out of bounds
carried or punched or whatever through any of the sticks = 1 point...
mark = catch a ball on the full...
simple enough right?

if he belts the ball hard enough and it hits the boundary no need to run.. that one scores 4 runs
if he belts the ball hard enough and it flies out past the boundary without touching the ground, that scores 6 runs...
