but mini notebook...how good are those things? I'm sick of carrying my 3kg notebook around. I just want to surf net on the go and do some word processing.
Friend just got the Asus mini notebook.. she's just using to surf net ... the screen is small and cute..
If you're just surfing net, and simple word processing, I think should be fine. Small notebooks cannot handle so many programs at one go.
If I recall correctly, kenny sia @ www.kennysia.com did a review for his HP mini. You can go and read about it..

Hmm.... the FS doesn't quite like my idea.... especially when I told her the words 'gaming laptop' and 'gaming desktop'. ![]()
But the way I see it.... if it can handle high-end games, then it should be able to last me a long time. I don't want my computer to turn into a dinosaur within a couple of years. Besides, I can always upgrade a desktop with new components.
From what I can tell, if you're just surfing the net and writing reports and stuff, an ultra-cheap and ultra-portable notebook may be the way to go.
Try reading the Digital Life section of today's PAP Times. They did a review of several mini-notebooks.

Oh I was thinking of getting this for work when I travel since it is basically just word processing, maybe some spreadsheets and emails nia

I hate it when we're expected to give high tech output on low tech equipment. My team working on a very important presentation are all using personal equipment to get it done.

because kopi is so screwed![]()
yes. I take joy in others' misfortune.
I checked out the asus 3EPC at the last IT show, I must say the specs are nothing to shout about at all, I'm not sure how fast it would be, even running linux kernels ...

Is this the trend of stat boards?
I once went to a stat board for interview.. my gawd, the staff in there were all still using CRT monitors, and it looks like they have been there for the last 10 years!!!

I'm using an LCD....that I brought over from home. Many of my coworkers did the same. We moved the CRT monitors to a storeroom. Get this: our PCs were replaced 3 years ago and somehow they still managed to give us CRTs.
From now onwards everyone is getting notebooks though. Desktops will no longer be purchased unless requested for.
i carrying a 17" LCD laptop. Ppl keep asking why so big and bulky....haiz.......long sightedness
who wants to do a pageant shoot for $100? ![]()
