I bumped into my prof at McDonalds' just now.
Me: Heya prof!
Prof: Heya! How's the project coming along? Do you need more equipment?
Me: Well, I can get a data logger from the lab, but I'm going to need some thermocouple probes....
Prof: How much do they cost?
Me: Erm, around $60 each.....
Prof: (takes out $120) Here! Buy two!

The grant for my project is held by another department. Too much red tape to access it directly.
So what he's doing is that he'll pay for the equipment first out of his own pocket and then claim it from the grant later on.
Dang.... it's great to have a prof who's willing to bend over backwards for you.

after a horrific day on course... all about a "Excellent Service Award" which i supposedly got..
while a bunch of us were either sleeping, daydreaming or asking disruptive questions, there were a lot of people in there actually taking notes!!
i shit you not!
wtf? this is a bullshit course where people get awarded bullshit for non-existent excellent service, people were actually taking notes!
