Precisely! A dog will follow you until you die, and then it might still continue to wait for you and pine for you. ![]()

people who truly believe that should have kids.
I don't, so its best I remain childless ![]()
Originally posted by Rhonda:Actually, if a couple really WANT to have a baby because they love children, then expensive or not, great sacrifices or not, they will go ahead and have the baby.
Couples who keep on harping about financial incentives, sacrifices, etc may not be ready to have children afterall and may be better off remaining childless.
Seriously, if you just look around you, there are so many couples raising up kids on measly monthly incomes and they still manage to make it somehow.
They manage because they can afford to raise the kid but they cannot afford to plan a back-up plan or have insurance to ensure that in the event they fall ill, they have something to fall back on.
Things will be smooth for them if they have their health.
This is a life which I do not want to have

maybe i am the traditional kind. Having dogs and cats sounds...unreal to me. No matter how ur kids turn out to be...its still coming from u ultimately. Hard to explain this kind of feeling :)

But MPB loves kids lor. Aiya -_-"
I'm too selfish with my time to want children. I love to relax and do whatever I want, the stop and smell the roses thing.
Also, I'm financially alright nia, and if I have a child, oh my gosh, I will immediately be propelled into becoming financially in the red. ![]()
Most importantly, I go to work, see the ugliness of work politics, and see the unscrupulousness required to be on top and stay top dog and I think, I don't wish to bring up a child and have him/her struggle with all these. Thanks, but no thanks.
Thankfully, I still have a choice. That's why I have not packed up and moved to be with Jason. And that's why when I meet guys who want to have kids, I pack up and go before forming any emotional attachments. ![]()
But first, I'd recommend working with other peoples' kids first, to see all the kinds that you possibly get - and don't have total control over. *Big hint for Fatum* ![]()

that's why you see so many old folks who actually have kids still out there collecting used cans or working in foodcourts and fastfood restaurants. spent all their $$$ raisings kids and have nothing to retire on. and the kids even if working may not be able to fully support their parents.

You seriously have to speak to MPB. Having a child will mean that your current lifestyle will be seriously affected.

In this day and age, it is unrealistic to expect the grown-up children to raise their own family AND support the elderly parents.
Thankfully, my mom understands that and she has influenced my dad to accept that idea too. I'm so thankful for my parents.

Yeah he is well aware of it and ready to make that sacrifice
The only thing that I"m more comforted about is that MPB is not the typical guy who expects you to server him hand and foot and do everything for him.
He's a better housekeeper than I am and is always helping out around the house so I'm fine with that in a way.
And he is willing to do the dirty work like unclogging the toliet bowl or catching icky looking caterpillars etc I figured he can change the diapers
Oh my gosh... I feel so worn out after my shifts that I feel like I have to crawl back into bed again!
How to complete my assignment like that?! ![]()
