With my job, I sometimes have to approach the power authority to get them to confirm the fuse and transformer size to ensure there's adequate power to the site.
our installations are large installations such as factory, shopping complexes etc....more industrial purposes

In Singapore, does the power authority pay for most of the cost of the transformer installation and the customer only contributes a small portion of the cost? It is in Victoria.

it depends....Power Supply can sell up 22KV and above supply and you have to pay for the switchgears and transformers. these are usually the power gusher installation. for the small installation, the transformers are supplied by Power Grid. In the earlier days, we only work wth PUB....now all these subsidaries

I am working in the Telco industry, helping my client to build new towers in the rural area. So one of the things we need to look out for when we are looking for candidates is power supply.
Sometimes there may already be an existing transformer in the pole near the proposed site but the transformer may need to be upgraded to cater for the increase demand by my client. In this case, the power authority will have to pay for most of the cost and the rest by my client.
